I get a notice each week from Yelp on new places to eat in town. I saw Tams Cream Puffs. Read the reviews and saw the pictures. Had to try it out. Be sure to check the hours and days that they are open. Right now only 5 pm - 9:00 Tues - Sat or until they run out. I went on Tuesday and got the assorted box. I wanted to try them all. The plan was to share them with some people as I was on my way to a meeting. I ate all 6 of them! I was hungry but they also were very good. The cream was good. Not just a bunch of whip cream inside — good solid cream filling. I loved the coconut puff They toast the coconut so that flavor really comes out. I liked the Hawaiian with macadamia nut flavor. The Mango was a suprise. A tart fruit flavor - with real mango. The fresh mango was also in the cream filling. The salted carmel really had a good salted carmel flavor. The original — just plain powder sugar on top — it was ok. I loved the ones with the piped frosting on top. I call it frosting but it isn’t your buttercream cake frosting. It was perfect. It wasn’t too sweet to overpower the cream puff. I didn’t know I liked cream puffs so much. After my meeting I went back and ordered another box of the variety 6 to take to my family. I talked with Tam’s wife and she said it is just family working there now and that Tam is the only one piping the dough so all they can make is 600 a day. Most days they sell out and have to turn people away. The cream puffs aren’t huge, just regular size. I really liked the cream and the flavors. I would definitely try out all of the flavors. They are located just 2 doors west of Crumbl on University prkw. Pretty smart move for them. If you want to try something different or if Crumbl doesn’t have your flavor - give Tam’s a try. Now all I need is a good cream pie place. Maybe Tam can make cream pies — he is spot on with his flavoring. I mean Veyo Pies is really far. Coconut cream pie, raspberry cream pie — I think he could...
Read moreI have been craving cream puffs forever but could never find anyone who made them gluten free. It is an hour drive to get here for me, but super worth it! I called the day before and the woman I spoke with was extremely nice and helped me decide on which flavors to get. I got 2 of each in the eclair, original whip, strawberry, salted caramel, aloha and passion fruit. Oh my goodness, I am in heaven! They kept cold all the way home and I was worried that they wouldn’t be good if not eaten in the same day, but they are great. If you have had a gluten free donut before then you know that they do not keep well and need to be eaten right away. These keep well in the fridge and are super delicious the next day which is nice since I have to travel to get them. Definitely call ahead for the gluten free, I will for sure be back to try the seasonal taro flavor. This was exactly what I wanted for my birthday treat, thank you Tam’s Cream puffs for creating something unique. Sooo so good, every flavor is amazing!
Update: The gluten free Taro and strawberry whip are super delicious. I was waiting for them to bring back the Taro flavor before I made the trek back out to try them again. I was not disappointed. Still as delicious as the first time...
Read moreThe 5 star reviews do not lie. We have been coming in to Tam’s since they opened in the beginning of the year. Local owned small business owners who have poured their heart into their shop! To be frank, I would 100% support them over the sue-happy cookie business next door ANY DAY!!! Tam and her husband are true gems- super kind and they make a mean cream puff. They moved from Tahiti to start this business here; Utah desperately needed more food culture, and they delivered. They are both there every day but Mondays when only their staff is there. They sell out fast so get there before 8!
About the cream puffs: We love how light and refreshing they are. They’re not sugar bombs and you could easily eat three a piece- they’re that good. We love the Hawaiian Chocolate Puff and the Salted Caramel. The caramel is homemade- you can taste the butter! Their vanilla bean is from Tahiti!!! But everything is made from scratch and that is the best part! The puff is crisp and freshly baked everyday and filled fresh when ordered. I would eat these everyday if we lived closer.
Thanks Tam for bringing a phenomenal business to Utah and for helping the food culture here expand with a delicious treat we can...
