Not only was their food absolutely delicious, but their customer service went above and beyond the call of duty. My boyfriend and I visited Tamashi Ramen today. After looking over their extensive menu; which consists of a wide range of ramen flavours, entrees, rice dishes, and sushi, I ended up ordering a small dumpling ramen and my boyfriend got a large seafood ramen (both where absolutely divine and filled us up completely. My boyfriend didnt even finish his). On our way out my boyfriend dropped his wallet and we didn't realize it was gone until well past 11 pm. At this point the restaurant had been closed for some time. On their website Tamashi Ramen has a chat with us option which I messaged about the wallet (fully expecting to have to wait until the next day when they opened again) however, within 10 minutes I got a response from a real person telling me they had actually found a wallet that day. Unfortunately they couldnt check whos name was in it because the restaurant was closed.
But this employee went above and beyond to alleviate our fears. They pulled up security footage and jumped through hoops to help us figure out for sure if it was his or not so we could have peace of mind. By the time we successfully identified the wallet it was well past midnight. This employee (wenjun lin) was extremely patient and understanding throughout the whole process. My boyfriend and I are extremely greatful for their investment of time and effort into something that was "above their pay grade". I am extremely satisfied with this ramen house not only for their customer service but also for their delicious food and wide selection. A trait that is difficult to find at good ramen places...
Read moreShort review: We liked this place enough that we’ll return. Super spicy options available.
Long review: First off, I was in Yokohama, Japan for two years. Yokohama is particularly famous for tonkotsu-style ramen, as well as good ramen in general. So, my standards are very high. All that being said, I try to be lenient in my judgment of ramen. We found out quickly that this ramen place is run by Chinese people, not Japanese, which isn’t surprising, considering this is Utah.
The food was delicious as far as chinese-style ramen goes. My wife and I both got ramen with thick noodles, as is our preference. But there are several different choices of ramen, as well as other foods unrelated to ramen. When we return, we’re going to try the tonkatsu in curry sauce. I got the spicy umami ramen. It was VERY spicy. I almost couldn’t handle it but really enjoyed it.
The noodles, broth, par-boiled egg, bamboo shoots, and seaweed were all great. Unfortunately, the chashu (roasted pork filet) was a little rubbery, but I’ve had worse. The ground meat (not sure what it was) in my spicy ramen was tasty, though. Food portions were great. We both just got large bowls of ramen and we’re completely filled before finishing our bowls. Both of us started very hungry.
Our waitress was a super nice girl with a strong Chinese accent and a big smile. We would return just for her as well.
We would go here over Asa Ramen and Ramen 930, which are both within a few minutes driving distance.
Four stars because meat is important to me and the chashu didn’t cut it. But we’re excited to go back and I’ll probs write a review on the other, non-ramen...
Read moreI dined at Tamashi Ramen in Orem with my father tonight on a whim, we were seated immediately and our waiter(s) were extremely attentive, I had been thinking of what to order and happened to glance in their direction and one of them immediately asked if we were ready to order, I was caught off guard and politely said not quite, but I was amazed to see their close attention. When we were ready to order they immediately noticed as well.
We had two waiters serving us, a younger girl who had a bit of a difficulty with English but got by. And a gentleman who I believe was also the chef or perhaps manager.
I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the Strawberry Boba Milk Tea. My father (who has been vegetarian his whole life) ordered the vegetable ramen. As he ordered he asked if the ramen had any fish sauce on it, there was a bit of a language barrier but they were very polite and made it understood by the end.
Shortly after the waitresss took the menus the gentleman came by and wanted to ask my father more questions concerning the ramen he asked if eggs or egg noodles were okay as well as pointed out what other animal products weren't in it. We appreciated this phenomenally, my father wouldn't have eaten it if it had eggs, going the extra mile to check in really made all the difference.
The food came so quickly I was astonished and even more importantly it had a fantastic flavor, it was cooked and flavored perfectly. Overall a great dining experience and I can't...
