This is a great concept. It comes off as "a place for local artists, collectors and designers" However it feels overun with drop shippers. They even have a drop shipping program. Drop-shipping is cheap low quality business, not art, not local, not made with love and care. Therefore it undercuts genuine artists booths. People tend to compare handemade items to cheap drop shipping items -and end up buying the cheaper item. This devalues passionate artists whom have much to offer to local communities, and have better impacts on the economy. I am disappointed that they are so drop ship friendly. I've also noticed that already well established businesses are opening booths. It feels like it may turn into just another corporate mall. When opening up a booth you have to sign 1 year contracts. I'm not sure a local artist could compete enough in this quantity over quality environment, it's a gamble. It's a bummer because this concept is so good. I just wish it were geared for lifting up local...
Read moreI have a resale tax exempt number. Which means i can buy items i am reselling without having to pay tax. I have been to this store on 4 separate occasions, of which I have purchased items every time. On the 1st occasion the manager was called for the items being tax exempt. She gave me a resale form to fill out and asked me to email her a copy of my certificate when I got home, which I did. She then took the tax off. The 2nd time I went in they had no idea what I was talking about, so I just paid the tax because it was like $1. The 3rd time they tried to figure it out and did. Today on my 4th visit, they again had no idea what to do. The manager contacted her regional manage to get help. Not only could they not find any of my paper work, but did not have new forms to fill out. The manager disappeared to look for them came back and said she couldn't find them and then left again and did not return. I waited 20 minutes in all. Finally I left paying tax again! I doubt I...
Read moreThe painted tree boutiques is a quaint little store in a strip mall that has aisles of small boutiques, that artist can rent to sell their wears like an indoor flea market almost. We need more stores like this.! The photos I’m leaving are items that I found, but there were many gorgeous antiques there as well. Wish I had taken...
