I just had my 3rd chemical peel and the experience today was totally different than my first two. Kylee did mine today and she was so thorough and took her time. She really made me feel like I got my money’s worth. That wasn’t the case with my first two treatments. Those were extremely quick. Kylee did a lot of product application after the peels, gave a neck message, painted on my second peel, etc. They were two different experiences and today’s was wonderful!
UPDATE: After re-reading this the next day, I realized I did not communicate myself clearly in my review. My husband purchased me a 4 pack of chemical peels here. I did one in November, one in December, one yesterday and I’ll have my last one next month. All of the peels occurred at the Orem location. For my first two peels, it took twenty minutes each time. I left feeling like that wasn’t much bang for my buck but I hadn’t had a peel before so I just assumed that’s how long it should take. But I had already decided I might not buy those anymore if it was only going to be a short treatment. Yesterday, a different girl, Kylee, did my peel. I honestly thought they had my paperwork wrong yesterday because it went on for a full hour, she did lots more prep work on my face, and did lots of additional products on my face after the two layers of chemical peel (also, she painted on the 2nd chemical peel layer. That didn’t happen at my first two). Then she finished it with a neck massage. It was such a wonderful, calming experience. When she finished I asked her if my paperwork was wrong and if she accidentally gave me an upgraded service. She said no and then we proceeded to compare my first two peels at this location with this one. They were two insanely different experiences. She felt so bad that I didn’t receive the proper length of treatment my first two times. I relayed all of this to the manager that was there yesterday and she said she was sorry but didn’t seemed bothered that I had a subpar experience my first two times. I was also shocked she didn’t offer to partially refund or offer me something else.
Overall, my point is, unless I had Kylee yesterday, I would’ve never known that I wasn’t getting my full treatment that I paid for. As I’ve thought about it the last 24 hours, it makes me even more angry. I feel as though I got ripped off. My first two peels were 40 minutes combined when they should’ve been 120 minutes combined. I missed out on 66% of my treatments but I would’ve never known if I had the same girl for all my peels.
As a business, I hope you will take on the responsibility to educate your staff on how your treatments should properly be done and make sure your employees are all on the same page. Any customer should be able to buy any treatment, have it be performed by any employee, at any location and have the same standard of care and length of appointment as appropriate for the treatment.
I also hope you will make this right for me by some type of refund or additional treatment, product, etc. because I am left with a very sour taste in my mouth. As of now, I won’t be purchasing another skin treatment unless it’s with Kylee because I just don’t want to risk getting ripped off again. It also makes me sad at the thought of other customers possibly not getting their full treatment they’ve paid for simply because they don’t know what they should be expecting. I was oblivious and assumed I was being fully treated for what I paid for but that certainly wasn’t the case with my first two peels.
The 5 star review is solely for the job Kylee did. She was so thorough and actually gave me the full treatment I paid for. I have also done laser hair removal here in the past and had a good experience. I still rated them highly because I believe they will re-educate their staff and also make this situation right with me. But as a customer, I would suggest asking lots of questions before you have a treatment so you know what you are supposed to expect from them and maybe that will ensure you get the full treatment...
Read moreI had a painful and distressing experience at Spa Trouvé. Three weeks after Megan injected filler (including my right temple), I developed jaw stiffness and tenderness that rapidly escalated into severe facial swelling and complete lock-jaw.
I contacted Megan as soon as the symptoms began. She told me there was nothing to worry about because I had no fever or skin discoloration. Symptoms became much worse however (complete facial swelling and total inability to open my mouth) and I went to the ER. After finishing a seven-day antibiotic course from the ER, I asked Megan to dissolve the filler because the swelling, large lump, and jaw immobility persisted. She refused, insisting that she and her team advised waiting at least two weeks for the infection to clear (even though I had completed my full antibiotic course) and that I be patient.
Not willing to risk further complications, I paid out-of-pocket to see a dermatologist, who dissolved the filler immediately. That intervention finally reduced the swelling, although I am still in rehabilitation for my jaw.
When I called to request a refund the spa manager (Carolyn) was dismissive referring to my experience as a 'little incident'. When I reiterated the severity of my condition and the lack of timely follow-up care she finally agreed to issue a refund for the fillers. A full refund was not issued however and I had to contact the spa two more times in order to receive the refund I was promised. I have not been compensated for my medical bills incurred by their negligence.
I understand that serious complications are rare, but that makes it even more important for injectors and spas to be fully educated on these potential risks—and prepared to help their patients promptly when they arise. Their refusal to provide timely follow-up care was dangerous and unacceptable. I’m sharing my experience so others know how serious issues may be...
Read moreI am not usually a review writer, but I felt the need to complement the staff at Spa Trouve' in Orem. I was first introduced to them when I purchased a laser hair removal coupon on Groupon. From the moment I walked through the door I felt very comfortable. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and informative. Other places I'd been to seemed a little more stand offish and slightly unapproachable. It was very refreshing and I instantly relaxed. I am very particular about the quality of treatment I get, especially when spending the money necessary for the type of treatments offered, and I was not disappointed. I felt like Lanae really took the time I needed to explain procedures. She was also informative about any questions I had about other services Spa Trouve offered and was never pushy trying to up-sell either the services or product. She patiently waited for me to ask questions and offered only what she truly felt I needed. We became good friends as I continued to come back for treatments. I am confident that this is the rule and not the exception at Spa Trouve. I have even purchased their ongoing membership so that I can continue to pamper myself, but with a great discount! I highly recommend Spa Trouve to anyone who is interested in the services they offer! 5...
