2nd time I have had paint lids come off during shipping. The shipping for Michaels is literally a thin sealed bag where everything inside can just roll around and destroy each other. I have used Michaels for art supplies for a really long time. I will not be having anything shipped to me again. **Update: I decided to exchange these in store, which it says on the invoice that you can do. You can either ship them back and have them send you new ones, or you can return them at any Michaels locations. To have them ship me new ones, I would just receive another shipping bag with more exploded paint. I thought the best option was to return them to the physical store. They only had one of the colors in stock, and so I decided to just return the rest since they were damaged during shipping. The girl returned the rest and exchanged the one color they did have in stock. Later that day I noticed that my credit card was charged at Michaels even though all I did was make an exchange and return, and got store credit. I never gave them my credit card. And the transaction was shown to be that my card was manually entered. I called Customer Service and was told that they don't know why, but sometimes when you return something it instead charges your card on file on accident, but that it should naturally fall off in 7 days. I was so confused, I explained that I didn't hand the employee my credit card and it has been manually entered. I got thinking, if this is a thing, how many times has this happened and I haven't noticed it? He again said he didn't know why it happens but that it would naturally fall off in 7 days. The customer service rep told me that even though it states you can return in store, they don't want you to, they want you to do a return online and ship it back. And he said that he didn't want to tell me not to order paint online but that maybe I shouldn't order paint online, because the lids come off. It couldn't have anything to do with their low quality packaging. I went back to Michael's in person and spoke to the employee that helped with my return and exchange, the day before. And told her what the customer service rep had said. She looked confused herself, she had never heard of credit card charges happening on accident when making a return, and of these charges naturally falling off after 7 days. She told me to come back and talk to the manager on the day she was working. I decided to wait the 7 days and just see what happened, before going back in. And on the 7th day my card was refunded with a slightly different amount. I don't know what it's all about but that's...
Read moreEvery employee I spoken to or asked questions of has gone above and beyond in different ways. I had a question right as I entered and couldn't spot a roaming employee, so I asked with hope shining from my eyes, the closest cashier (luckily little to no line) where I could find something. They weren't sure, and I was already voicing my usual, "That's okay, thank you anyway," when they pulled out their...com..?..uh radio? and immediately contacted an employee and passed along the location. Another time, is was literally 2 minutes from closing, and I was picking out a new type of craft to learn, gathered materials, but was unsure about one of the items. Right at the back was an employee behind the fabric cutting table, and I hazarded a questioned, and not only did they Really Know What they were talking about but, they offered all kinds of advice for beginner me, and shared some of their craft projects they'd done with the same materials.
And all of this was offered freely, enthusiastically despite talking until after close! I apologized but they didn't mind one jot.
This Michael's location feels like my...
Read moreI had a really bad experience here. I called earlier in the week to see if they could do a custom frame and was told absolutely. When I came in they told me no one works in their frame department at night. That’s fine, odd but whatever. So I asked to leave my artwork there and when a framer comes in the next day they can call me. The girl with the pink hair was extremely frustrating and would not allow me to leave my items with a note and a name. Instead I was asked to come back Monday morning. Uhhh hello some of us work during the day. I asked if I came back Monday night could I drop my stuff off then, but was told no one would be there to take my stuff. What is the difference between a one employee taking my artwork and another? Why wouldn’t she just let me drop it off? That’s essentially what I’m doing if a framer had been there. I’m literally trying to give you guys money. Why won’t...
