Ryan is the best! I felt like i was hanging out with an old friend i had not seen in a while. It was such a treat to learn about his passion for music and how much it means to him. we had similar life stories. I am so glad i found him in shopping around for people to install new speakers in my 2025 crosstrek. It is ridiculous how much shops charge for labor to install speakers. Ryan was half the price, and was really objective in his recommendations for modifications to speakers, unlike every car audio shop i went to. They either tried selling me a pimped out speaker set up, with expensive sub/amps and even DSPs....honestly, it was so annoying... What i learned is that people who just talk over you and recommend things, or are not willing to listen to sound in your car to see what it needs, run from those people. And ask 4-5 people what they think your car needs. That will help you figure out what is most realistic to solve for your needs...
He guarantees his work so that takes away a lot of stress.
My set up: 2025 Crosstrek Limited Alpine S2 S2-S69C and S65 speakers SoundShield Contour Sound Sealing ($50 kit on amazon) - this is important and improves sound, reduces rattles, vibrations...
Ultimately, i went with the alpine s2s because after hearing a lot of the speaker and researching their technology and being a sound snob myself, i felt the alpines were the best to bring out true, balanced sound, not too sharp, and sufficient base for all types of music. The focals are great, but overly focus vocals and instruments, whereas the kickers just really offer big base, but dont bring out the fullness of some songs.... The alpine's base is more than i would want or need for a car. If i did more, i would probably do an under the seat amp, since i would not want to take up space in my car. But as is, i am super happy.
Remember, dont get fooled by people offering these huge set ups. Speakers first, then go from there... They are just trying to sell you...
Read moreThis guy knows his stuff! Let me tell you a story. I’m selling my car and everything’s working fine. Up until I get the first customer interested in buying my car driving it. They wanted to see how the radio works to which I told them it worked great. Only to have turned the radio on and no sound come out at all. It was the most awkward 15 minute ride ever. I tried everything I could to get the stereo to work and I couldn’t do anything about it. I thought I had lost a sale on that car and I had another person coming to see it in just an hour. So in my panic to figure out what to do, I Googled car audio shops near me. There was one open after 6 PM and I didn’t even think to call or look where it was, I just followed the Google maps instructions. Once I got there, I pull up into a neighborhood and I was super confused. So I called the number and Ryan answers and tells me I’m at the right spot. He quoted me $40 for an inspection and then said he would tell me the rest of the price once he figures out the problem. He spends less than an hour looking into it and found the exact problem, which turned out to be a grounded wire. Just charged me 10 bucks for that and honestly, it was the best 50 bucks I’ve spent on that car in a very long time. He’s reasonable guy trying to make an honest living, giving reasonable prices for the great work that he does. I think everyone should go see this guy if they have any car...
Read moreIf you’ve got any work that needs to be done, whether amp, sub, or head unit, Ryan is definitely your guy! While I was installing my amp and sub on my own (wasn’t my first rodeo) I accidentally cut 3 of the wires in my oem wire harness (2018 Honda Civic SI). I was even more freaked out when I took it to the dealership, and they told me the wire harness needed to be replaced. (Quoted me $3050). After much research online, I saw that some guys had spliced them back together. I wasn’t confident enough to do it on my own, and reached out to Ryan at RTR Sound Solutions. He assured me we could get them back connected, and did so at a reasonable price. (Saved me $1000’s) I figured I would have him also finish installing my amp and sub, and LOC. these projects took a total of a little over 2 hours, and definitely saved my butt!
If you’re looking for a Sound Install Specialist, reach out to Ryan, and he’ll get you taken care of! Thanks to RTR Sound Solutions, I can rest easy, knowing my car is working great again! (And the sub...
