Three years ago, I purchased two bracelets in memory of my husband for my daughters. Both of them broke and so after months of finally getting to this, I went into Aldos to have them repaired. Both bracelets cost me about $500. The owner was very rude, impatient with me and offered no help. He kept asking me what I wanted. Well, I wanted them to be repaired. He told me he couldn't because of what I had purchased. They were hollow. Well, they sold them to me so this was confusing. The way I was treated was unnecessary. I just wanted guidance or help as I had purchased them originally from them. If my original purchase was not a good one, then I should have known then. It's hard enough to lose a mate and buy a memorable piece for my kids with his thumbprint...but to not give me any alternative to fix it seemed really harsh at the time. Please don't respond with a comment about how you tried to help...you did not. But, you did request that maybe I buy the $750 bracelet each so that the charm would now work. Overall, I"m confused but know I will never set foot inside this place of business again. There are many other jewelers who may appreciate my...
Read moreUpdate to my review of three years ago. Aldo's unfortunately no longer meets my standards for work. He took my expensive 18 karat gold watch in the back to replace the battery and came back out with the watch all in pieces! He informed me that he had broken one of the important securing posts (also 18kt) and needed a few days to fix the problem. In other words he would not be able to just replace the battery and give me back my watch. In that moment I felt an instant ping on my radar and immediately asked for the watch back. Aldo's had never had a problem replacing batteries in my other watches but this most expensive watch of mine was in pieces. I asked for my watch back and I got it in pieces and it has been that way for the last year. And OH YEAH, he never returned the broken post so I will need to pay for the gold when I find some other jeweler to fix my watch.
My last review was in 2012 and here's what I said. My jeweler since 2006! Aldo and his staff epitomize old world charm and excellence in work. They are courteous, give reasonable estimates and return work on time and always in great condition. I recommend...
Read more5 Star Jeweler and business for sure. Aldo is honest, humble and fair. I have never purchased jewelry from anywhere else and all of my friends go to him for their jewelry needs. Reading through the reviews, there was 1 person who has had rated a 1 star and that was after bringing an expensive watch that Aldo said he would need a few days to change the battery/fix. What this customer may not know is that Aldo has a personal watch man who specializes only in watches. For him to say he needed a few days was because he wanted the watch man to who specializes in all things watches to do his best work with an expensive piece. This is because he cares for his customers and their property.
I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else, if it is a far drive for you it is worth it to find an honest jeweler with...
