Shady Business practices. You hear of moving companies loading someone's furniture onto the truck and then asking for more money before they offload it, well Millennium Systems Design is the equivalent of that.

I bought a house that had a system that was installed by MSD for the previous homeowner. I asked them to give me a proposal to get the system back up and running, which they did. The proposal says "everything is included", but after they came by the house and did some work, they sent me a second proposal to finish the job. It was never explained to me that the first proposal was not for everything needed, and the first proposal is worded in a way and presented in a way that is very misleading.

Save your money and your time and look for someone else. I found another company in Orlando who were far better to work with, were honest, explained things a lot better, and converted my system to be much more user friendly.

Not only does this company have shady business practices, now the owner is outright lying about the situation. I fired them from finishing this work. I'm the one that called the owner first to give him a chance to do the right thing. He says I'm being petty, but I don't like it when someone tries to take advantage of me, as I'm sure no one does. Here is the section of their proposal that discusses what is included. Read it and you decide. If no one from the company verbally tells you that there will be a second proposal, would you think something else is needed after reading the following?

"Our pricing, unless otherwise noted, includes all labor charges and installation fees. Most of our equipment is priced at or below MSRP but the price you see includes everything needed to install it, thus we call it “installed price.” If you need to have the proposal separated we can provide that, but through our experience most clients find installed price easier to understand.

Labor charges as of this proposal are $155 per man hour for installation, $185 per man hour for programming, and $125 per man hour for retrofit. Our programming and retrofit labor charges are our best estimates and unless otherwise noted include time for setup and programming of the system plus time for tweaking the program. We have found that most customers require changes within the first 30 days as they begin to use their systems and we will modify the program twice within 30 days after the installation...

My wife and I wanted to revise some drywall built-ins in our living room to put in a media wall. We knew from other folks with similar walls that we wanted a large TV, updates sound system, and an “invisible wires” look that likely meant a network and a/v rack. After doing some research on home theatre providers/installers in our area, one company just absolutely stood out in terms of their website, its content, and their very evident capabilities.

And that company was Millennium Systems Design.

After a few emails back and back and forth with the owner Mike, one of the company representatives, Brannon, came out to our home to discuss the project with us. Two days later, we were in their office and showroom looking at products and reviewing a highly detailed ten- page proposal customized just for us with an item by item breakdown of everything we would need to make our dream project come true. And Brannon did a fantastic job listening to us and understanding what our budget was (not millionaires) and how to make things happen.

Everyone at this company that we interacted with from top to bottom (Mike, Mary Kaye, Brannon, Sean, Jonathan, Edwin, and Frankie) were top notch professionals, and the greatest strength I think we their communication. We were always aware of where we were at and where we were headed. MSD also worked tirelessly in communicating with our general contractor (Mecca Builders) to coordinate the projects seamlessly, and the quality of that communication really shows in the finished product.

I have used this company for a number of years. They revamped my automation system when it was destoyed by lightning and have upgraded the system and installed updated security cameras around my home in the subsequent years. They have always been professional, extremely knowledgeable about all types of automation requirements and always prompt and true to their word.
