Welch is a hospital cafeteria, one of two at Florida Hospital. It's big, to serve hospital workers and visitors but it doesn't fall down into prepackaged sandwiches and chocolate bars. There's a custom sandwich bar, pizza and pasta section, hot food section, and a salad bar that would make a 5-star resort sit up and pay attention. The seating area is large and bright, and the tray return is efficient. Clearly dietitians have been involved in the choices (I've not seen hamburgers ), but if you want chicken wings, they are available for instance. I've had some stuff (like lentils or the chicken breast they substituted when they ran out of turkey) that's best ever, I want to ask the chef for the recipe. Some stuff that's okay (sushi, salad bar), some stuff that's on the lower limits of palatable (parmesan tilapia). The employees that serve the food are good. Read moreMy wife has been in and out of hospital for over a year. Welch really needs to work on retraining employees on customer service. The attitude and demeanor is horrible and when you ask a simple question, its like how dare you bother them. If it was not for employees and patient families paying the escalated prices, they probably would not have jobs. Food options are the same all the time, although sometimes they have good suprises.
