This is worth your time reading. Seriously!
Sooo … I was in Orlando yesterday to take care of an unpleasant business.
After I did that, my roommate asked me: “Would you like to go to this restaurant to eat? They have an awesome brunch menu.”
Well, it you have been shaking down I-4 during rush hour and drove all the way from Jacksonville, there is just one answer for that question.
“Maybe,” I said.
I mean food is a serious business.
When we got there, from the street, I noticed there was a line. People were waiting outside.
“Hmmm,” I thought.
We go in. I rush to the restroom. Remember the part of shaking down along I4? Yeah. Such a bad side effect!
Anyhow …. On the way to the restroom, I see a pay phone. Are you shocked? I mean, you reader. I am. Where can you find those anymore?
And that is not the only thing I found, believe me!
As I was staring at the phone in utterly shock, I hear someone say:
“You don't find those anymore, do you?”
I turned around and there is this cool dude with a Colgate smile and two ear rings that just made the shock of the phone a thing from the past.
“No, we don’t,” I replied.
He was dressed like a nurse and I wondered what would a nurse be doing at a restaurant? Getting an asparagus out the ICU in the kitchen?
Next thing, I introduced myself and asked if he was a cook.
“No,” he said. “I am chef!”
I mean, he took the frying pan 🍳 to a slow cooker poetry with one word.
“Nice to meet you,” I said, “My name is John and I am about to taste your food. I’m half Italian and I take my food seriously,” I continued.
Still showing his recently whitened teeth and that annoyingly cool smile, he introduces himself.
“My name is Chester,”
“Wow!” And I was blown away - again.
The dude is not only a chef, but his name is the breeding result of a chicken and a turkey! I was static. That man was born to cook. Yet, I had to check his culinary skills.
I go back to my table and here comes the waitress. She was sooo good, she deserves a review apart. She was so happy too, I thought she was just given a raise in salary.
Now the moment you will think I am making this story up.
Chester comes to the table to see me and delivers a ginormous cinnamon bun that looked better than Pamella Anderson in a bikini.
Sorry, Pam Pam. The dude knows his food.
He was kind to show up at the table and deliver the food I did not order!!!
You gotta give it to Chester. He loves his customers! Even those who speak funny, think he is a nurse and are still thinking about giving him a call to find out who the heck his dentist is.
We order the food. It gets to the table in a very timely manner.
The first bite was the fried chicken. Guys, the crust was just right. Not too thick to detract the taste of the chicken, and not too thick that all you remember is the taste of flour in your mouth. Alarm bells rang.
“Daaaaannng! This man is good!”
The biscuit was also great, the potatoes were dry and golden and the eggs …. Sunny side up reminding me a pair of …. Never mind!
It was not brunch. It was a food experience.
That plate right there, and meeting the super professional Chester, yeah, the mutant name guy, was all the exorcism I needed to get my day back on track.
If you are in Orlando, Tampa, Miami or Alaska, please stop by to eat there. Not only the place is amazing, but the food makes Disney Wold seem a third category theme park with the food they offer.
Chester, if you are reading this, there is a girl out there who is really happy you exist. If you have not found her yet, I hope they show up by the hundreds at that place. You are the Dude!
Thanks for an awesome time and a meal that will not forgotten any time soon.
I will be...

From the moment you step into White Wolf Cafe in Orlando, you're transported to a place that feels both familiar and exotic--comfortable yet infused with an air of mystery and wonder. It's more than a restaurant; it's an experience, a sensory journey where the extraordinary comes to life.
The ambiance is nothing short of spellbinding. Imagine being wrapped in the cozy embrace of vintage charm while surrounded by an eclectic collection of treasures that beckon your curiosity. The decor weaves a tapestry of unique artifacts, elegant lighting, and vibrant colors, creating an atmosphere that's warm and inviting yet brimming with intrigue. It feels like you're dining in a secret, enchanting corner of the world where every detail tells a story.
And then, there's the food--a symphony of flavors that perfectly complements the magical surroundings. The Vanilla Cappuccino, for instance, was not just a drink but an experience. Its rich aroma and velvety foam transported me to a serene moment of pure bliss. It was the best I've ever had, and that's no exaggeration. Pair that with the Bayou Burger, and you have a culinary adventure that redefines perfection. The goat cheese, normally not my go-to, was an absolute revelation--creamy, tangy, and perfectly balanced with the bold Cajun flavors. It was so irresistible that we found ourselves returning for more.
The second visit was just as enchanting, if not more so. The Reuben Sandwich was a masterclass in classic comfort food, with tender corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and melty Swiss cheese nestled between perfectly toasted rye. The Moroccan Salad added a vibrant, zesty twist to our meal, bursting with spices and textures that transported us to distant lands. Every dish felt like it had been crafted with love and an almost magical attention to detail.
What truly sets White Wolf Cafe apart is the hospitality. Picture this: the owner himself joins your table, sharing stories and offering a cinnamon roll to try. And not just any cinnamon roll--this was a slice of heaven, warm, soft, and laced with a sweetness so divine it felt like a gift from above. Each bite melted in your mouth, leaving you craving more.
The service, too, was beyond exemplary. Every server made us feel like royalty, tending to our every need with grace and attentiveness. It was the kind of service you'd expect from a five-star establishment--personalized, polished, and genuinely heartfelt.
White Wolf Cafe is a rare gem, a place where ambiance, cuisine, and service converge to create something truly unforgettable. Whether you're sipping on the best cappuccino of your life, marveling at the intricate decor, or savoring a perfectly crafted dish, every moment feels like part of a story you'll want to relive over and over again. If you're ever in Orlando, don't just visit White Wolf Cafe--immerse yourself...
Read moreBeen hearing about and seeing great things about the White Wolf Café basically since I moved to the area. Living so far away, I have to time perfectly when I can go to these great restaurants. Well once Saturday morning, lightning struck and we were able to come! We get really lucky with street parking, wait like 20 minutes for a two-top, and get seated and started.
Ambiance is beyond cool. Right there in the middle of Ivanhoe, it's surrounded by really cool restaurants, little shops, and of course the great Lake Ivanhoe. Really love coming to this area. And the inside it pretty cool, as well. Dark wood everywhere, art work all over the wall, and Tiffany-style stained glass lamp shades, several of them, hanging from the ceiling. Felt like the inside of an old antique shop.
Service was great, too. A very nice fellas. Kept the drinks flowing, food came out at a good pace. No issues here.
Now onto the food. I had the Country Fried Chicken (Marinated buttermilk fried chicken breast smothered in homemade sausage gravy. Two eggs with hash browns, home fries or grits & biscuits, toast or English muffins).
This was insanely good. A good sized chicken breast, fried to crispy perfection, moist and juicy throughout, and smothered with that excellent gravy. Lovely. The home fries were both white and sweet potatoes, cooked all the way through and charred juuust enough to also be lovely. The eggs were scrambled, they were fine.
I also got the chance to try the Baton Rouge Burger (Orlando Burger Battle winner! Cajun seasoned 8oz brisket short rib blend topped with goat cheese, roasted red peppers, citrus slaw and "tobacco" onions).
Wow, what a burger! A nice sized patty. Too many burger patties around town have been shrinking lately.. Excellent tang from the goat cheese, excellent acid and sweetness from the slaw, and I'm not sure what was tobacco-like about those onions, but they were the crunch that set this burger off and made it perfect.
We got dessert, against our better judgment. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Sandwich. Wow. Definitely don't order this with no plans to share it. This giant, ooey gooey roll is sliced and stuffed with a nice, not-too-sweet vanilla ice cream, and then the whole thing is absolutely engulfed in whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and caramel.
It was overwhelming, but not too overwhelming. I have no regrets.
Overall, this place has earned it's place in my top three breakfast places in Orlando, without a doubt. The charm and effort of this place was very appreciated. Since I've gone, they've sold to a larger entity, so I hope they don't mess this place up. Orlandans are not very forgiving of that...
