Dick's Fresh Market — Local services in Osceola

Low quality market. Buy a top Serloin it's apt to be tough as old shoe leather. Very difficult to find a descent size roast. I have been able ro get one cut once in awhile. It would be nice if they had a regular butcher available. The produce is fresh but also of lower quality ie: smaller oranges than other places, smaller pathetic artichokes. Staff are friendly but not always knowledgeable and at times can't even tell me where a sale item is. Every time air have purchased pumpernickel cocktail bread it was freezer burned and I would not loom to buy any high end item from the freezer, old and also freezer burned ie: puff pastry. I guess it works for most locals but being someone with more experienced cooking skills I go to Marketplace for higher end items or MN. Manager has an "I don't care attitude" and my staff have had the same problems I have. I believe it's what one can expect for a small town but I believe thry could do better. Deli staff can be very friendly or hard to work with according to my staff. You get what you pay for with Dicks. I think a bit better attitude would solves a lot of problems with the manager. I Shop at the Osceola store and sometimes in the evenings when the young staff are the only ones there it's a little lax.

I was not happy when a young man started turning off lights in the freezer and dairy cases at 840 on Sat night. If you're not officially closed until 9pm, those lights should be left on so we can see in the cases better. I stopped picking out frozen and cooled food at that point so the store lost sales because of it.

Prices are substantially higher than other stores in the area but I will continue to buy local as long as the selection and service stay good as I know this store owner donates quite a bit to local animal...
