Chester Lewis from ApplianceShark Prairie Village came out to the rental I just moved into. The washer’s spin cycle was not working properly. When Chester walked in the front door he immediately said “I smell natural gas.” I was shocked! I couldn’t smell anything, neither could my partner. Our friends who had just helped us move didn’t notice anything. And our landlord had just been in the house and couldn’t smell anything either. Thanks to Chester, I alerted my landlord, and we immediately notified the gas company of a potential leak. They came out to investigate, and sure enough there was a leak in the gas line in our basement. It was repaired immediately, and our lives were saved from what could have been a potential disaster. I’m not kidding when I say, we feel as though he saved our lives. I wish I could give him a billion stars, but 5 will have to do. Oh, and by the way, the spin cycle is working tremendously now :) Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Chester! This is what it means to go above and beyond. This is one of those moments I wish was captured on a show like Undercover Boss, so he could be rewarded with a huge raise and an insane vacation. He deserves it. Well done. These folks are the best from both a repair & sales perspective. Our 14 yr old dryer started acting up so I Googled appliance repair & decided to give Shark a try bc they were really nice when I called and they were able to squeeze me in quickly. The technician arrived right on time, was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough & honest but, instead of repairing it, I decided to buy a new one since it was so old. Before I even checked into Shark’s inventory, I went to NFM, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy websites to research & possibly buy a new one. Everything was ridiculously expensive so I decided to go into the Shark retail space to see what they had. I was BLOWN AWAY by their prices & the quality of their merchandise. I ended up buying a gorgeous, top of the line LG steam dryer for 1/2 of its cost in the big box stores. It supposedly has a scratch or dent on it but neither my husband nor I can find it! They even delivered, installed & hauled away our old dryer that same day!! They are clearly very service-oriented and I loved supporting a local business esp. when they are 100x better than the mega stores! Definitely getting all our appliances from here on out. Large selection of new appliances with (mostly) minor scratches and dents. I spent way too long in their showroom picking a fridge, so many to choose from! Prices seemed fair, clearly and accurately marked, $300-500 or so off big box prices. Lilian, the salesperson had a lot of fun energy, perfect for my mood that day. She let me attempt to shoot for a discount despite being early for their March madness sale. I decided to buy an induction range too since they had one similar to what I wanted and they worked up a modest discount for me. No hard sell, overall positive atmosphere. Von and associate delivered today. They called me before arrival, asked if they could use a dolly on my hardwood floor (no, though I should have asked if it had soft inflated tires before turning them down), were respectful of me and my house, got the old one out and new one in without incident.
