I ordered as I have many times before, however when I approached the window I wasn’t greeted by the cashier. She stares at me and then holds her hand for my payment and I give her my card. She disappears to then appear with my drink and my car sticker on the top. I waited for my food and held the sticker in my hand. The first words from this person were, “You pull forward and put that on”. I know this seems small but quite literally every single time prior to that my interactions at this Culver’s were always top notch customer service from the beginning order to the payment to the end pass off of food. Greeted at the window, told the final price, engaged with the customer, and placed the sticker on the mirror. It felt like they were engaged and it was something I always appreciated. This experience was nothing like my previous visits, thinking maybe they were short staffed and busy but I walk in to see near 9-13 people there behind the counter/at the window/from what I could see of the kitchen. With that many people, there is no excuse for that poor of customer service. I wish this was all but then the manager questions me twice while one of the well intentioned young men at the front is yelling a different number than my order to be re-fired or looked at. He was trying I’ll give him that, but he didn’t look at the ticket long enough to see the correct number. Ultimately, the manager re-fired my order. Gosh Manager dude you had enough people there that the only time limiting factor SHOULD have been the cooking time, I would do anything for that kind of commitment. As I’m sitting there you ask where my car is, instead of going outside and looking for the only bright red car you turn around and say, “I don’t see it”. Again, with the amount of staff you had present you could and should have been able to leave to store for maybe 5 steps. That’s without any production loss because of your brief absence. You hand me a coupon and after I got home, I calmed and want to say I appreciate that gesture. However, you and your very large team dropped the ball so hard with my order that I will no longer come to this location. Culver’s has an excellent product and I don’t want that to be lost, I’m still a fan of the food but I will not come to this location despite the fact it is a mere 6-7 minutes from where I live. I doubt I will have Culver’s anytime soon after...
Read moreFirst time Culver's experience!!! Located just North of Shawnee Mission Parkway exits on East side of Metcalf. Can you believe I'd never had Culver's?!? First timers - the parking lot and drive-thru are different. Turn into the lot and you are forced forward - then you turn right but veer left to get into the drive-thru lane. There is a preview menu board, but you only see it for one car length prior to the order window. At the order window you have a TON to choose from, including burgers, chicken, cheese curds, and shakes. I have no idea if a butter burger is different than any other combo, but I went for that with "everything". You get to pick your cheese so be prepared for that. $2 upcharge for their famous cheese curds in lieu of fries. You then make a tight right to hug the building on your left to pull up to the window to pay. It's kind of an odd setup. So you pay and they give you a number on a table stand thing. (There is no waiting at the window for your food.) I guess it's cooked fresh - yum. Not an issue, just keep it in mind if you're in a hurry. Then you pull forward into the next available waiting space. I didn't know what to do with my cute little number tent thing so I decided to roll down my window and kind of stick it outside like a car hop thing (I don't think I needed to do that, lol.) Eventually food was brought out by employees and given to the corresponding number in front of me, at which point the line would move up to fill the parking space that had become available and make room for people behind you who'd just paid. I would be very interested to see what this looks like when it's very busy during peak hours. Was I was to tip? I didn't - sorry. I tried to eat my food while driving hahaha Don't do this. The food was unbelievable. The burger was juicy, the tomatoes were ripe, The bun was yummy... Everything was perfect. Except driving 65 mph trying to eat a massive sloppy amazing cheesy ooey-gooey burger. I'm pretty sure it was in my hair. If you're not going to dine in, and you're not going to go home, eat in the parking lot. Trust me on this. I'm not going to go back to Kansas just for Culver's - there's way too many places up north to get a better burger - but they we're super super super good, especially...
Read moreThis is an updated review. I love the Strawberries mango cooler from Culver's, it is seasonal and it is not available all year round. They are 💯😋! I also enjoy salads and I was excited to see the Strawberry Fields salad. There was a weird moment when they didn't have a salad dressing recommendation, but I let that go. I knew that I had something to use at home. The serving size was appropriate for the $8.49 price. I got it home and noticed that it was kind of wilted, I shrugged that off because it was over 80° outside. There was a lrge piece of chicken that had been partially cut into massive chunks, I had a pause but I shrugged that off too. After I added an Italian dressing, I started to toss it to distribute the dressing, there were the expected walnuts except that the were whole or close to it. 🤔 I took a bite of the salad and it was okay, the spiky lettuce leaves were not chopped at all. I took 2 or 3 more bites and I finally got a strawberry. It was SO DISGUSTING, it was slimy and overripe. I picked through and found another slimy strawberry. At that point, I should have thrown in the towel but I took one more bite. This bite had a really long hair in it. 🤮 I have had some barely okay items from Culver's. The massively hyped fish sandwich was a disappointment and the last chicken tenders that I had were absolutely not made to order, they were barely lukewarm and soggy yet chewy at the same time. I have been willing to pay Culver's higher prices for a fast food choice, and now, I will stick to the strawberry mango cooler and...
