I must admit I'm not a fan of this new Jerusalem Cafe location in Mission. It's a fast food version of the originalJerusalem Cafe location from Westport. If you like fast good style dining... you will like this mission location.
The staff was friendly but you order at a counter or a self service kiosk. The staff was still training and messed up my order, but they kindly and quickly fixed it. Everything about this place is fast food. Plastic utensils, plastic disposable cups, ketchup packets, salt pepper packets... even the seating is oriented at fast food style in and out. It makes sense as we were the only ones dining in and everyone else was offering for to go.
Unfortunately because we have been going to Jerusalem cafe for years in their origional Westport location and then again in their updated loctation... this new iteration in mission is a no go for us. It's a McDonald's of mediterranean food. But if that's your...
Read moreWe've always loved Jerusalem Cafe but the service we got at the Mission location went above and beyond. I ordered a sandwich for my younger daughter and it was supposed to be no tomatoes or onions and when I got home, I realized they accidentally added, onions and tomato. I called back up To let them know, and the manager was so incredibly kind, very apologetic for such a small mistake and insisted, I let them deliver a correct, fresh sandwich because they're a family restaurant, and they wanted to make sure that my daughter was able to enjoy her food. Within twenty minutes they we're at my door with correct sandwich an amazing dessert that my daughter absolutely loved. It's no secret that Jerusalem cafe has the best Greek food around but to also have top-notch customer service willing to go the extra mile, just to make a customer happy it's so rare nowadays! I would give jerusalem cafe ten stars if...
Read moreSo disappointing. We were so excited to see a down town favorite moving into the neighborhood. We have been 3 time now. Food has been disappointing. Dolmas were completely inedible cooked to a paste that oozed oil. Lamb was tough and overcooked even at eat in. 2 carryouts have resulted in 2 return trips for incorrect foods. The portions received are expensive for quantity and quality. So much plastic that I won't be returning. Only plastic silverware is available even dine in, and take out comes in styrofoam sealed in plastic sacks. The staff seems to always be teenagers with zero people skills. Not even an apology for incorrect foods received. Only good thing I can say is that the hummus is delicious, but my family and I will be finding our...
