Halal Meat Market and International Groceries — Local services in Overland Park

I am not a regular but visit this place once in a while. I am not going there again, based on my experience last week. Let me explain why:

The place a clean and organized, way better than most indo/pakistani/Mediterranean grocery stores. That's the only good about this place. But they have a horrible ordering system. You cannot talk to a person over the phone or walk in to order something. They run on a strange SMS (Text) ordering system which is a joke. The system never says a price of any item, you just cannot compare and decide. The Beef if way overpriced. They always brag about the quality and want to justify this jacked up price. To me other Halal groceries in greater Kansas City offers the same meat at much lower price. I could not compare the chicken price though. The front desk staff (owner) is rude. She needs to understand its a business, and we are her customers. We are not getting any favor, and she is not doing any. In the past the owners have severely retaliated any negative online comments, and I am sure they will attack me too. You connect the dots. In a nutshell this place has zero or negative customer service. Make sure every price is correct once she rings the items. She charged me more for two items, and I immediately figured it. Then she said sorry and adjusted the price. It is stealing. They will charge you 3% for credit card transactions. Come on, is it 1980? I asked for beef with bones. She never asked how I wanted them, or never showed any inclination to cut the bones into small pieces. I ended up getting close to 50% bones in large pieces, which were useless. The value for this assorted Beef is very low. I took recommendations from my local friends, and I have found another store in LeneXXA. That store is PaX HalaX. Much better customer service, and they will cut the meat in front of you. You can talk to real person over the phone, can ask price and then decide. They will also ask you how small you want the pieces to be cut. I...

As someone who eats meat every day and has been to nearly every meat shop in Kansas City, I can confidently say that this place is the best — and it’s been my go-to for over 15 years now!

One of the things I love the most is how the owner listens carefully to exactly how I want my meat prepared — whether it's trimming the fat, cutting into small pieces, separating into multiple bags, or selecting specific cuts like baby goat legs with no smell.

I can also request very specific things, like chicken leg-thigh keema cut medium (not too fine), boneless chicken breast, goat leg only, or even special steak cuts — and they always deliver exactly how I want it.

This is a one of its own kind of place that charge you for using credit or debit card. If you compare prices for certain commonly available groceries at Indian stores this place is always higher. Funniest thing is owners prefer cash payment but refunds get paid in check if you want refund. Only difference is this place have halal meat to use as an excuse to ripoff. This the same reason a lot of other halal meat places shutdown in Kansa city because our Muslim brothers want all the money in one day no matter how it comes.
