I'm ok with wearing a mask. When we go to KCMO, we plan and have it with us since it's mandated. Since it's not mandated in Overland Park/JCKS, we did not take them out of our vehicle when we went to the OP fall festival. We went in and out of other stores that did not require us to have one on. When we stepped inside of here, we were told we needed to have one on. (there was a sign outside, didn't notice it since we were already going in and out of places). I asked if they had a mask we could grab and the answer was no. Like most business this past year, if you want to require it (I'm fine with that) you need to provide them if it's not a county or city mandate. This is not great customer service. I know my $40 a year I spend there isn't much but I'll gladly take it somewhere else and let others know. I'll wear a mask, that's not the issue. But if you're going to require them and it's not a city requirement, provide them. Responding this way: trust me when I say I know about the challenges. I’m in healthcare, I need to protect my employees, and I’m trying to hire multiple positions . So I get it, we’re not that different. My frustration is that you didn’t have them available since you’re requiring them. That’s it. You can buy them on Amazon 100 for $15. I don’t think that would cause a need to inflate your prices but do what you need to do to justify the cost. My complaint is strictly about the masks not being available for customers when you require them. Keep wearing wearing them, keep telling your customers to wear them - that’s all ok! Read moreCame in on my birthday yesterday July 3rd to treat myself. It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me and the young lady that did made me feel that I was truly putting her out. We made our selection, she rang us up and then immediately walked away. My daughter & I were shocked by her lack of caring and I had to stand there another 5 minutes because she failed to give me my receipt and finally she acknowledged me, I asked her for the receipt which she gave me and quickly walked away because chatting with her coworker's were more important than a customer like me. Her customer service skills are horrible!

All I can say is their phone call made me feel that I am a valuable customer and that I truly matter to them. From whole pies (delicious), to cutie pies (easily enough for two, but so tasty I don't share), to cookies (NOM) this place makes my tummy happy. The shop smell is decadent and alluring- even in the parking lot. They offer a lovely selection of wares that are perfect housewarming or hostess gifts, and the employees have always been amiable. I hired Upper Crust to handle the desserts for a friend's wedding several years ago and was pleasantly surprised by how seamless the process was- not to mention the cost was extremely reasonable.
