Both Peanut locations I know of are great. Even if you don't like sports or having a beer just to have a beer. Why? The food.

Their buffalo sauce is correct. It's got the right flavors and the right sting. If your lips are chapped, you wanna die, but you love it anyway. You'll never get the baby ray's crud ever again. The wings are also big enough you can dip pieces of it without covering the whole thing and your fingers. Most of the time, both edges of the wing are just a bit singed, it's actually quite nice. I eat the wingtips, don't judge. And it marries well with ranch or blue cheese like it should. I don't even dip the chicken. I dip the celery while the heat of the buffalo sauce is still there.

The loaded/chili nachos are also great. The beans are always properly cooked, soft and flavorful. Good proportions of ingredients.

Better than you'd think are the jalapeño poppers. They have something in them [s]their[/s] THAT other poppers don't. I've been in an argument about it. Is it cumin? Not sure.

bad side: stuffed mushrooms. Mushrooms are of an inconsistent wetness. bigger is not necessarily better, more stuffing is not always better, and more breading definitely does not compensate for the other flaws.

OK, so as per the last paragraph, I suggest to the owner/manager that they try slicing the mushrooms. They don't have to be caps. Slice 'em, let them sit and drain, for a consistent moisture. Sure, you can't stuff sliced shrooms, but do mushrooms need that? I vote 'no'.

I left out the brisket nachos. Also great. They come with pickled jalapeño slices that aren't thin and limp and wet, so it actually cooperates with...

Just moved to KC & I've heard so many raves about the wings here, so I decided to try them tonight. Do I think it's overpriced yes? Was it good? It was decent. The only good part was the wings & the buffalo sauce honestly.

I paid $22.96 for 3 wings & fries & a side salad. The 3 wings & fries is $13 I think & the side salad was $6.50. The side salad is way too small & not that great of quality to be $6.50. No garden salad that size should be over $3 even. The wings were big & honestly, this the only place that sells the entire piece. The ranch was alright & the chipotle ranch wasn't too bad. I did not like the tiger sauce. The packaging for the 3 wings & fries was great to try & keep the fries from getting drenched in the wing sauce, so major props for that. Definitely appreciate that the wings come with ranch (or bleu cheese) & celery since most places charge extra.

The confusing part was that when I ordered online, it gave me the option for pickup inside or curbside pickup. I chose curbside & on the screen, it told me to call once I arrived & someone would be out. I called & whoever answered the phone was a little rude & cut me off when I said I was there for curbside, letting me know they don't do curbside. Whether they do or don't is still not known to me, but the rude service continued even when I went inside. Even though this was my first time eating at the peanut, I had called the one in Mission earlier this week asking about employment & dealt with a rude girl on the phone. There's multiple reviews for every single location that there's rude staff, including this one.

Definitely didn't dislike it, but I really just think it's overpriced...

Ive been going to The peanut on Metcalf for over a year. Bringing all my truck driving buddies with me to enjoy one of the most greatest wings around KC. And never had any experienced of the worst service and racial profiling ever from this company until this Peanut restaurant. Me and 3 other black men came into this location for the first time (on account of me telling them how good their food is and great service but only going off of Metcalf location experience) sat down. 5 mins later here comes a server taking our drinks order, 5 mins later bringing our drinks, 5mins later taking our food orders. I have an understand of patients but when we started observing people(white) who came in 20mins after us getting their food it became an problem. Our serve never check on us in 20 mins. we had to ask another waitress for help on making our order to go. Then our server only came back to ask us if we getting our food to go and give us checks. After that we waited another 20mins til she came back and to tell us only reason its taking so long is because it take 20mins to make wings with no apologies for the wait. But its 40mins since we order. As we ask for the manager ( who never came) 5mins later our food came. When we got back to work the order was wrong. Me and my colleagues were disgusted with this behavior. And on a account of me telling them of thus great restaurant i was...

I was very disappointed in my experience at the peanut today. I got the grilled chicken sandwich, and I added avocado. The chicken had no flavor. I put salt and pepper, and it still was bland which was a disappointment ad it was listed as grilled. Maybe it was the thinness of the meat on the sandwich, but still was not very appetizing. It's sad when the fries are the best part of a $15 dollar selection. My boyfriend had the Chief. The hot dog was so over done it had the consistency of rubber. The beautifully cooked egg on top was the highlight, and the only thing worthy to ingest. My daughter got the nachos. The meat tasted like the meat you would find out of a can, lacked flavor. She is a huge nacho eater, she didn't even make a dent in the large portion. The Peanut has been a favorite of mine, unfortunately, I will probably not come back.

The wings are full sized and the Beer is cold! We spent $59.59 (before tip) for a family of 4 and that included 4 tap beers. The wings are full sized so if you order them be prepared.... a dozen isn’t for the faint of heart. The kids loved the French Fries and Mini Corn Dogs. The decor is typical bar decor with open seating. Service was good considering it was Father’s Day and was packed. There seemed to be more kids there then usual I’m assuming for this reason. The other servers were helping a lot and we received our food and drink from them. The blue cheese is to die for so make sure you order extra. If I had to give negative feedback I would say a bone plate would have come in handy as well as wet wipes. Also, the wings were over peppered compared to normal. Overall, food was good and so was the atmosphere.
