If you have books to sell, go to McKays in Nashville. 2nd & Charles’ buyback prices are horrible and I knew that, which is why I never sell to them but I had no choice in the circumstances due to the quantity of books and moving several states away. Took 36 bankers boxes of books including signed and inscribed books by Robert Ballard, fantasy artist Michael Whelan, Nora Roberts, Raymond Feist, Mercedes Lackey, etc. and there were a lot of books that would probably be considered junk. Took them 24 hours (way too fast) to properly process the order and offered me $14 in cash or $26 in credit. McKays takes 5-6 weeks for the same amount of books and I’ve yet to have a check less than $200 from them and as high as $500. Maybe it’s just this particular store because I took half a box of books to the 2nd & Charles store in Gainesville that was nothing but books rejected by another good buying store in Florida and this 2nd & Charles gave me $15 in credit for 20 books (not 20 boxes). So if you’re selling, save up enough for a trip to Nashville, you’ll be...
Read moreStear clear of this place. We happened to be in the Owensboro area exploring other sites and stopped in. We bought several items. One was an old wii game. We still have the system. The sticker sealed the side so we didn't open it. The check out teller didn't open it either. We got home and discovered that the case was empty. Called the store. We are 1 hour away from the store. The manager was suggesting that it was a lack of oversight on our end. Was not willing to do anything unless we came back. No attempt to try and resolve the issue. Terrible customer service. She shouldn't manage the feed you purchase at a petting zoo. Too complicated. Speaks volumes of the store. Almost like this is part of how the operation is. Maybe, done on purpose. How many of these issues happen regularly? They make out and then say it's on you. Bad, business, management, customer service and honesty, a dump of a store. Save your...
Read moreFirst, they weren’t going to tell me how much credit I had and if I wanted games I had to pay for them. They decided to go ahead and offer me credit on my games the day of rather than waiting for them to call or email me when they could get around to it. Told I could continue shopping while I waited for my credit. No one came to tell me they were finished. Waited and waited then got in line just to find out I was in the wrong line and needed to be “over there” for my credit. I sign 2 receipts and she begins ringing me up in an entirely different line and doesn’t say anything. I’m just standing there looking stupid. Then tells me I have only 30$ in credit for 10 games! Games I recently bought from them for 18$-25$ apiece mind you..Terrible experience. You might as well have 100% def and mutes running that place because god knows they’d do a better job. I didn’t even grab my receipt I was so over it..And that’s fine because I...
