I would like to start by saying that Shoguns has been one of our favorite restaraunts for years. Unfortunately since they have changed location I have found the service to be lacking. The first visit I made to the new location was hectic and lacked the basic attention I expect when visiting a restaraunt. I simply assumed that the reopening was busy and causing issues. I gave it some time and returned to eat at Shoguns again today. The temperature inside the restaraunt was the same as outside (around 88 degrees). Do to the heat, when asked if we wanted a table or grill we said we assumed the grill would be hotter and asked for a table. The host in no way adressed the temperature even after us mentioning it. I understand sometimes the AC is out or other issues but please take the time to inform your guests of this. We took our seats and looked through the menus. We decided what we wanted to eat and continued to wait. We had three seperate servers come within 10 feet of us several times but never acknowledge us. After 15 minutes of waiting we tried to get the attention of any employee but to no avail. We than waited another 5 minutes and still did not have anyone even approach us. At this point we decided 20 minutes was too long to wait to even be greeted by a server. We took our leave to seak out lunch somewhere else. On our way out we passed 5 employees and not a single one acknowledged us. Not that I expected them to know what happened but we didn't even get a fast "thank you", "have a nice day", or even a "goodbye". Read moreThis was my first experience with Shoguns and also my last. We came in at noon on a Sunday and had to wait, which was fine. The manager (I assume) seated us. He mentioned being short staffed while we waited for a table. No biggie..The issue I had was the service. Our waitress seemed to be in a mood as soon as we were seated. She asked us if we wanted to order food before ever asking what we would like to drink. When asked a question about the menu items, she seemed irritated that we weren’t familiar with it. As I started to order, she cut me off and went to the next person without finishing my order. She completely skipped my daughter’s order and I had to wave her down to let her know she did because she was apparently unaware. When we received our drinks, half of them were wrong. (We had multiple families in our party of 10.) After it was all said and done I received my bill, only to find out that I was charged wrong not once, but twice with items I didn’t order. I spent $50+ on lunch to receive the most terrible service I have had in a long while..not to mention a plate of food I didn’t want. I also inquired about the price of the entree. Apparently you only get lunch prices Monday-Friday even though that wasn’t listed on the menu. I did contact this store to speak to the manager and he did seem apologetic. My conversation was merely to make him aware and hopefully a training/coaching moment for said waitress. I hated to even contact him and “be that person.” This pretty much wraps up my experience. Read moreParty of 4. Upon arrival we were promptly seated in the dining area rather than Hibachi, as the wait for the grill was 45 minutes (As it goes anywhere in town on a Friday night). It was clean, and everyone was friendly. My main protest was the wait time. We were there nearly 2 hours, we were served our appetizer, sushi, soup and salad very quickly. Then left waiting nearly 45 minutes to an hour more for our food which was 2 adult hibachi, 1 child hibachi, and a ramen miso bowl. Believe it or not... the miso came out around 5-7 minutes AFTER the hibachi.. weird.
We then had to wait another 20 min after finishing because we had ordered a to go noodle at the time we ordered all of our regular food.. I believe the server had good intentions of wanting it to be fresh, but didn't expect it would take as long as it did... because... it was just noodles.
Apart from all of this, our server seemed frazzled.. she was doing all she could. They were just slammed, we had to flag her down a few times for refills when we could catch sight of her.
All in all, the food was very good, no complaints there. Maybe they were just low staffed that...
