Malco Oxford Commons Cinema Grill — Local services in Oxford

So for the 3rd time I’ve showed up for a late night movie (after 9PM) and this theater has denied concessions during the movie. Stop offering late movies if you are not going to give customers the full experience. We arrived no hot food is available just popcorn and pretzels. I get up in the middle of the movie because we want a soda or water….nope denied because the concession is closed. For now on we will spend our money and bring our own snacks with us since we cannot have the full experience. No open bar, no open grill, no open concession,…not the best movie experience. I understanding prepping to close down, but certain amenities should remain available if you want to remain in business. People have access to movies at home and I definitely could have saved my money and time to watch movies comfortably in my residence, it’s 2023. The services for movie goers are drastically declining.

PS. I was even denied entrance once to a late movie because we were 10 mins late but we still wanted to see the movie. Sounds like this place isn’t making full use of its resources, which is definitely going to experience a...

if you had asked me to rate this movie theater a month ago it probably would not be this high. originally i wrote the oxford cinema and grill as a 3-star theater as most of my experience has been filled with talking or flash photos during blockbusters i had been so excited to see only to be annoyed leaving. all that said, this malco has earned this viewer’s trust back. i attended the superman screening at 7:10 on opening day. the bartender was super nice and they had an employee come in before the show and make sure to reiterate the no talking and no phones policy and, quote unquote “enjoy the ride”. it’s small gestures like these that make me very happy to continue supporting this theater. there were no flash photos, no loud talking, just an enjoyable experience with a terrific movie. i’m glad they are taking the initiative to make the viewing experience better. and to the guy who came in and gave that speech, i hope you know you’re amazing and made my screening 10x better...

The overall theater is very nice and clean. I have also visited the bowling side of this business which is also clean as well although when I was here to attend a movie I feel like the consessions are a little pricey along with their mixed drink options was quite limited and for the size of the glass it was very high in my opinion. The bartender was nice but seemed to have very little knowledge on what they actually had for mixing. I will attend this...
