TownePlace Suites by Marriott Oxford — Hotel in Oxford

I love this hotel. It is a little off the beaten path, out by the highway in an area that looks like it is just now being developed. So you can't really walk to campus or the courthouse square, but you can drive there in five minutes or so. There are some restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance, and it looks like more stuff is being built nearby as of July 2024. Part of the reason we chose this hotel was because we were staying over July 4th, and this hotel is within walking distance of the Oxford town fireworks show, which is at Oxford High School. We walked over to the fireworks from the hotel. It is about a mile of walking each way. Some people watched the fireworks from the hotel, and I imagine the rooms that faced East would have had a good view from their rooms. But I digress... Fireworks aside, this hotel is excellent. It is very new and clean, and the staff were all super helpful and friendly. We had a two-bedroom suite, and it was huge, more than big enough for our family of three. Unlike most hotels that provide breakfast, this one actually had enough room in the breakfast area, so it wasn't annoyingly crowded or chaotic. We had some car trouble while travelling down from Missouri, and Amanda, who works at the hotel, helped us find a really good local auto mechanic, who not only looked at our car on short notice on a national holiday, but was able to fix our problem quickly and for a very reasonable price. Shout out to Amanda and also to Deal's Auto Repair in Oxford. They went above and beyond and provided great service. Oxford is a great town to visit, and I would definitely stay at the TownePlace...

The view from the 5th floor. Lots of office buildings as a view including a highschool building. The room is cozy. It has a fully furnished kitchenette. I brought silverware and plates not realizing that my reservation here would already have it. The pools are very small. One indoors and one outdoors. Descent gym room. The only complaint I have is where they placed the toilet paper on the bathroom cabinet that is so low to the floor. I just thought that was an extremely weird placement for it. You really have to reach way over and very low to unroll it. It's better to just place a roll on top of the toilet or at the edge of the sink. Tons of shelves and a huge closet with a full size iron board and iron. The desk in the room is spacious and not tiny like most hotels. There's actual space to place your books and laptop. My fiance thinks the couch folds out into an extra bed too, but haven't actually tried it. The breakfast buffet is very simple with not many options. I stayed in Florida at a reserved hotel that had a breakfast buffet and it was amazing, so in comparison to the breakfast buffet here, this one isn't great. There is a humongous mirror behind the bathroom door which is very neat. Overall, it is a very pricey stay and I only really like the kitchenette the most because it feels like home to have a kitchen to cook in. There isn't a gas station or store to walk to so you'd just have to drive out for quick...

Ms Anitra at the front desk was absolutely Excellent VERY PROFESSIONAL and helpful each day also Ms Brittany that checked us in was very understanding and ACCOMMODATING we wanted to change rooms and she did not make us feel like we were unreasonable but made every effort to make sure that we were completely satisfied.

And the housekeeping staff was great the room was cleaned each day and the towels were actually clean

The room had enough light, enough furniture, enough space in-between the beds and in-between the bed and the wall great use of space with the kitchen, but the refrigerator is too close to the door not unmanageable but not optimal overall the room is great

I am a Spire Elite member with IHG and this Hotel is very similar to the Staybridge Brand with a few differences

There is no cost for washing and drying There is no daily room service The standard rooms are larger, or the floor plan makes better use of the space

I like the daily room service with TownPlace And at least the washer and dryer was clean and my clothes were dry with one cycle and the room configuration was acceptable

One thing that was VERY DISAPPOINTING was the INDOOR POOL which was not heated. It was VERY frustrating to have access to this BEAUTIFUL INDOOR POOL and it was TOO cold to enjoy . . . very dissatisfiying
