Went shopping here for my daughter's prom dress and it was not at all what we expected. First off, we walked into a room where there were no dresses. It seems like you are shown a few catalogs and choose dress "STYLES" and then they pull out dresses (from the back) that they have that are similar to what you chose. We were under the impression that the dresses in the catalogs were the ones we could choose from. My daughter chose a specific style dress and they brought 2 out in a completely different color, but they were very nice. My daughter said she liked the style of one of them but was open to other colors. They brought 3 more dresses out that were vibrant in color but completely different style than she asked. At this point they started rushing her and seemed more unfriendly than they were at our arrival. This started making my daughter uncomfortable. They still had 3 more hours until they closed and no one else came in the store, so not sure what happened. She tried the 3 dresses on anyways, but then said she wanted to stick to the style she initially asked for. The lady then informed us that we tried on our "maximum amount" for the day because she had to go steam clean the ones we tried on. I was shocked and asked her to clarify that we only get to try on 5 dresses? She said yes. No where was this posted and in no way were we informed of this upon our arrival. The whole experience was so awkward and I have no idea how anyone can do business like this. So basically my daughter tried on (2) of the styles she picked out, but were in the wrong color. Then she tried on 3 dresses that THEY wanted her to try on, all the while not knowing that she wasn't going to get to try on anymore. She was heartbroken as the dresses seemed to be affordable and pretty. She liked one of the dresses, so I didn't want to burn any bridges with the lady there in case we had to come back. Luckily she chose another dress somewhere else so we didn't come back. I don't know if this was just our experience, or it was a personality clash somehow.....all I know is my daughter arrived excited to try on dresses here and left feeling upset and uncomfortable. Good luck, and hopefully others have a better experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD!!!!!!! At first Margarita seems to be nice and helpful, It was my first dress shopping experience, At first I explained to Margarita what kind of dress I was looking for my wedding she showed me one that didn't seem like the one I wanted it but she pushed for me to try it,, after that I like it but I told her that the dress was missing the sleeves and some adjustments,(I TOLD HER CLEARLY THAT I DONT LIKE DRESSES WITHOUT SLEEVES)she promised that she would make all the adjustments with out no problem (but she never told me that she was going to charge me more that $300) until she called me 2 months before of my wedding to make the adjustments š” 2 weeks later I went to try the dress after adjustments and the dress didn't had the SLEEVESš¤š”,, Margarita was not there so I called her later and told her about the SLEEVES and she told me that I didn't pay for the sleeves plus that It was my fault cause I didn't reminded her and that if I wanted the sleeves she would charge moreš On top of that they had to adjust all over again the dress cause it didn't fit right and it didn't look like the 1st time I tried it. By that time it was almost 2 weeks away from my wedding day and I got tired of dealing with Margarita and her assistant because beside they are full of bad attitude and excuses of their mixtakes... After all that I realized that Margarita since that beginning she was interesting on sealing her dresses and not on helping the customer on whatever they need and make them happy... Really Disappointed and stressed out cause I only had 2 weeks to find another dress cause obviously I didn't use that dress... Once You buy the dress they don't really care if after the adjustments You are not happy and satisfied and also they start giving bad attitude.. I'm surprised that they are still open with the service they provided.,that's the reason I ended not buying the bridesmaids dresses or nothing else... I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!! Not even one star...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came into Alexis Occasions looking for someone to help with alterations for my wedding dress. This was a fairly last minute request (5-6 weeks before my wedding) with a good amount of work that needed to be done - my dress needed to be hemmed, taken in slightly, some of the loops for buttons in the back needed to be fixed, & I needed a bustle for my train. I also had a request to have sleeves made - something all other tailors I went to said was not possible & not something that they did. When I asked about the sleeves at Alexis Occasions, the seamstress did not give me a clear answer about whether or not sheād be able to execute my vision (using pieces of the hemmed lace from my dress & stitching the flowers from it on the sleeves so they matched my dress), but said she would try. If she couldnāt, a pair of simple tulle sleeves were going to be made. I called a week before my appointment to make sure everything was going as planned & see if she needed anything, & to double check my appointment time - she was a bit rude, cut me off, & said she never implied she ācouldnāt do itā, & said to check my receipt for my appointment time. I showed up to my fitting appointment the next week to pick up my dress & the sleeves had not even been started. She said she ānever got the measurements she neededā even though she took no additional measurements that day. She asked me to come back in two days (which was the day before I was leaving for my wedding) to pick up the sleeves. In the end, she was able to put the lace from my hemmed dress on the sleeves (in a completely different way than discussed, but it matched my dress enough that I didnāt complain). The 3 bustles added looked great but one of them broke maybe 45 minutes after my dress was pinned up. These alterations also cost over half of what I paid for my dress. I was a pretty laid back bride so I was content with what I had done but definitely wasnāt the best work or...
