A lovely experience. Our tour guide Kelly was knowledgeable of the local plant life, geology and history of the area. He was very friendly and helpful, offering to take pictures and provided us with plenty of water and granola. He even handed us towels dipped in cool water at the end of our tour, a welcome surprise after being in the summer heat. Helpful Hints: We went in late July during monsoon season. Even with the cloud coverage it can get hot. Wear plenty of sunscreen, a hat and hiking shoes, or sneakers with a good grip. The jeep does have a canvas top to provide shade during the drive, but to appreciate the views it will be removed if everyone has no objections. You do go on short nature walks, nothing strenuous, but there are a couple of tight squeezes, so be mindful when carrying camera gear or a large bag. You are allowed to leave your bags in the jeep.

Christopher was an amazing naturalist. It was just our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) on his tour and he took the time to take family photos for us, explain so much about the native people, flora, and fauna of the area. He assured us that there were no dumb questions and took the time to thoroughly explain answers to us when we had them. Additionally, being from the north, the extreme heat of the desert in late June is not something we’re used to. Christopher kept us well hydrated and fed with granola bars for the kids. He even noticed when I began to get sunburned and recommended that I take a moment to reapply sunblock. Overall, Christopher is well traveled and very knowledgeable as well as being so easy to talk to. It was a great morning and we appreciate the experience!

This was our second time with Red Jeep Tours. The experience this time was as good as before. Our guide, Butch, was knowledgeable, and kept a pace that was well suited to our group of seven older people. Butch described the geography of the area along with the history of the native people (the Cahuilla Indians) who inhabited the Indio hills for nearly 1200 years. We traversed the rugged terrain in an open air Jeep which made for 360° views of the mountains and the expansive desert. We learned about the vegetation in the area and how it was utilized by the Indians to sustain a supply of food. With as much as there was to see and experience, the three hours of the tour flew by easily.

After researching Red Jeep Tours and reading reviews online, I decided to call and book a tour.

I spoke with a Nicole when I called to ask a few more questions, and subsequently booked a tour for my family and myself.

We arrived and was told Ron would be our tour guide. We introduced ourselves to Ron and could not wait to experience everything. Ron had brought water and snacks for anyone who would like one. Also restrooms were available at certain locations.

I enjoyed learning about . The Cahuilla called their dome houses a kish, pronounced like the word quiche. Some were as large as 15 or 20 feet across. The house was made from bending willow branches covered with palm fronds, tule or whatever plant material was available. Each house had a front opening and a hearth in the center of the floor. A hole was left open at the top of the roof for the smoke to escape. Tule mats covered the doorway and the dirt floor. Other

What a educational experience learning about the San Andreas fault near Palm Springs. Some areas visited (upfill from fault) seemed from another planet.

Ron, was knowledgeable and had a very engaging personality. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to the area, as it and Ron exceeded our expectations!

We enjoyed our group that was with us we all shared photos. After our tour Ron had hot towels to clean up after the tour.

We left a jacket and Ron kindly dropped it off after.

I also had my mother in law and Ron was very attentive making sure she was comfortable, warm.

We went on the 3hr San Andreas Jeep tour in the afternoon and enjoyed it immensely. Rather than being an off-road adventure as we might have initially imagined, it was a very calm and fascinating tour of an important geologic and historical locale in the hills of Indio. It is unbelievably scenic so keep your cameras handy the whole time! The experience was very immersive with lots of hands on walk throughs of actual locations where the Cahuilla Indians lived and foraged. There was a lot of education about the history of the area and the people, as well as the flora and fauna (especially the interesting education on the different types of Palm trees and how they got there ;), which kept us very engaged throughout the tour. Not to spoil any surprises but you will be eating some of the actual food consumed by the natives hundreds of years ago. Our tour guide Pace was super chill and very smart with a wealth of knowledge about the locale. You will not be disappointed and will have lots of memories from this adventure. Especially good for families with children (who enjoy climbing rocks). This is a hidden gem as it is not well known or advertised. I have been coming to Coachella for over 40 yrs and this is my first time taking the Jeep tour, I only wish I had realized sooner how awesome it is. It is super easy to drive to the tour site (it's only 10-20 minutes from just about any part of the desert). Nothing should hold you back from booking...

Our family recently had the pleasure of joining a Red Jeep Tour in Palm Springs and was fortunate to have Chris lead our adventure as our guide. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of spectacular.

Chris’s enthusiasm and passion for the desert landscape is readily apparent and a refreshing addition to the trip. His deep knowledge of the area's history, geology, and unique flora and fauna truly enriched the tour. He had a knack for weaving engaging stories and facts together, making every moment interesting and fun.

Chris made a diverse group of individuals on the tour feel welcome, including our teenager. Whether we were exploring the rugged terrain of the San Andreas Fault or marveling at the natural beauty of the Indian Canyons, Chris ensured that we all had an unforgettable experience.

The Red Jeep itself was comfortable and well-maintained, allowing us to navigate through the diverse landscapes with ease. We stopped at several breathtaking viewpoints, and Chris was always ready to share insightful anecdotes and answer any questions.

Overall, if you're looking for an exciting and informative way to explore Palm Springs, I highly recommend Red Jeep Tours. And if you can, definitely ask for Chris! His British accent makes you feel as if you are part of a National Geographic documentary while his charismatic personality and expert guidance will make your tour...
