The Amado — Local services in Palm Springs

Hidden in a quiet residential area of Palm Springs, The Amado was the perfect place for our “Destination Reception slash Group Honeymoon”. It surpassed our expectations. They have their aesthetic nailed down — the casual midcentury meets minimalist southwestern vibe is easy and genuine. There is quiet style everywhere from the color choices to the textile picks, furniture, lighting and art selections — everything tasteful yet low key.

We rented out the entire place so the weekend could be spent cooking, cocktailing and lounging. It worked out fantastically. We weren’t sure what to expect for amenities, but were grateful that it turned out to be appointed so well. In addition to a stove and fridge the bungalows are fully equipped with multiples of various glassware (wine, champagne, martini, highballs, rocks) and complete sets of utensils. The big house has a full-size fridge/freezer, oven/stove and outdoor gas grill. It has a complete set of cowboy-utility blue and white tinware (place settings, cups, mugs, serving ware), plus essential cooking tools, sauté pans, mixing bowls, big drink dispenser. Your pool needs are covered too — noodles and floats, surprisingly functional sarongs, washer & dryer, etc. And when you’re entertaining for a crowd it helps that there are plenty of grocery options nearby for forgotten or additional supplies.

We were able to construct a really relaxing and intimate getaway for our guests. The space is the perfect mix of communal and private. Each bungalow (even larger than the website’s photos make them feel) offered an oasis for those that needed space to get away. It really felt like we had rented a special vacation home. Quaint and Accommodating! No more big box hotels for me, this was my first and best experience with vacationing in Palm Springs. We stayed at their sister location, The Junipero. These folks have thought of everything. Our girl's weekend was so easy and effortless. The house is located walking distance from coffee and a very short drive (or good walk) to down town Palm Springs. The bungalows were stocked with the necessities to the point where we cooked many meals and stocked our usual comfort foods for the fridge. Chris (property manager) was so patient, extremely responsive and took care of us professionally for every need. The Amado taught us what a Palm Springs getaway really looks like. We spent a cool morning drinking coffee on the patio, a warm afternoon swimming and lounging around the pool, the evening exploring the nearby main street, and a perfect night around the pool drinking wine with our feet in the water.
