As a new TCG collector, I was pretty surprised by my experience at CCG. I recently opened a bunch of product and had extras that were worth money, and from a highly sought after set of Pokemon. As someone whoās done the collecting thing in other hobbies, I decided to check out local card shops in the area where I could potentially trade my extras toward something I may not have, or Iād like to have. While Iām new to TCG, at least this generation of it (collected when I was younger 25 years ago), Iām not a dummy and do my research on things before just showing up somewhere. CCG was a location that popped up, so I decided to travel over and check it out. I needed a binder and some sleeves, as well.
I walked in, not greeted by anyone, specifically the person behind the counter, five feet from the door. Browsed around for five minutes or so. Went up to the cabinet and didnāt see anything I needed for my specific set but there was a couple character cards I liked and was interested in. Asked the person behind the counter if I could trade in my extras (had them on top of the counter in front of me) toward something in the cabinet. As soon as the word trade came out of my mouth, I was interrupted and assertively told I needed an appointment for them to even look at my cards. Let alone spend the time to look them up and give me a number. I could understand that if there was a lot of activity in the store for the ten minutes I was there. However, not a single soul was there my entire visit. Again, Iām not dumb, all they had to do was look on TCGPlayer and offer me 60-70% as a trade like anywhere else would do. I nicely said that I understand and started walking away and remembered what else I needed. I asked where the binders and sleeves were. Fortunately I was looking toward the counter because all the associate did was point in a direction, and didnāt say anything or even look up from whatever they were doing. At least that I could hear.
This could be a one off experience, I could be overreacting or dramatic, but itās not the customer service Iād expect when going in somewhere trying to give them business. I waited to review until I talked to some other friends in the hobby to give the benefit of the doubt, but the few who I talked to also discussed other less than stellar experiences here. I canāt give it a one star because everyone has their days, and it could have just been ātheir dayā. But still, the experience was less than desirable. I likely will not recommend or be back to this CCG or really any other location in the area.
The Pros: the location is very clean, organized and not cluttered up like other smaller shops. It looks like a comfortable place to come and play TCG as they have a bunch of tables. A couple of food places in the mall close to the shop to make it a fun night with your buddies. They hardly had any TCG in stock to buy, except the singles in the cabinet, so I canāt...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here for mtg, and found myself somewhat regretting the trip. I had other items on the agenda, but this stop was a bit of a lowlight on my shopping trip. The service was okay, as I was both acknowleged but also brushed aside. I ordered through the in store kiosk and had to wait 20 minutes before anyone started on my order. There needs to be a better way of handling this.
On the positive side, there was a fantastic selection of comics as well as roleplaying game items. Rulebooks and miniatures were easy to find and reasonably priced. The one downfall to this place is that there did not seem to be any organized play. Not a place I see myself coming back...
