My son was getting married in Homestead and I was referred here for rehearsal dinner flowers, nothing fancy, just daisies to place in bell jars. I called the shop months before the date and was advised it would be no problem, no need to place an order, just come in. I asked if he was sure and he assured me it would be no problem. I called again the morning of the rehearsal dinner and was again advised no worries, come in. The shop was over 1/2 hour away so I left, taking my time. When I arrived there were no daisies and I was told "someone came in before you and bought them all". There was nothing there suitable to place in the size jars I had. When I told him of my prior calls and pleas to put flowers aside, he had the nerve to tell me that's what I should have done. When I told him I had, the young man told me he would not sell me anything because I was rude. He went so far as to mock me when I told him that I didn't feel I should have to comfort him. He was laughing at me when I told him, if nothing else, he should have more respect for woman, especially those of the older generation of which I am. I tried to tell him that his attitude was poor. He laughed and said something, like, "well I'm sure they do things perfectly where you're from." Florida is certainly not the greatest for the service industry.
