The Family Colombian Food — Restaurant in Florida

Wow!!! This has immediately become one of my favorite food trucks. And for somebody who loves food trucks as much as I do, that says a lot.

I was hungry after the movies and was driving by and just happened to see the food trucks and figured I would see what they were. What a surprise to see two food trucks, one with the savory foods and the other with the desserts. Situated between them was convenient outside seating. My wife and I decided to try one each of the trucks, so I went for the savory and she went for the dessert. Tonight I was just in the mood for a burger and did not have especially high expectations. I ordered the Italian burger. And to my surprise, it was one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever eaten. It wasn’t just that the meat was delicious or even what the toppings were; it was the perfect combination of flavors which just made this an overwhelmingly delicious treat. Served with french fries and on a delicious roll, this is a hamburger that should not be missed. The ice cream was no less spectacular. Wonderfully creamy and served with a choice of toppings. My wife was only in the mood for Nutella as a topping, and she absolutely loved it. The owners are really accommodating, giving the best of service. The Family Food Truck came into our community, and after checking their website and reviews, I was curious to try their Colombian-inspired food. The people working on the truck were friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, our French fries were very hard, and the tostones were also tough — not sure if it’s their frying method, but they weren’t pleasant to eat and most of the flavor came from the mayo. The burger left a greasy aftertaste that lingered through the night, so perhaps it was just an off day. My family didn’t enjoy the experience, and for the $15+ per person, we’d rather go to another burger place. Not a happy experience overall, though it might just be a matter of personal taste.

Update: This was actually my first and only visit to this food truck. My review was written honestly and based solely on that experience — there was no malicious intent. I enjoy supporting small businesses and was genuinely curious to try their Colombian-style food. Used to go here for years when it was “Okay Burger”. Now they have new owners and the burgers are not the same. Quality of the meat is really bad and the fries as well. Really sad as this was a hit food truck in Miami for years.

Update: it won’t let me reply to the owner’s reply. The review was written to let future clients know this is no longer “okay burger” and that the quality has gone dramatically down. I don’t think as professionals that’s the right reply to a costumer, or to claim it’s a fake profile or review.
