From my friend Pam Turley, concerning Panama Cities IRS security. "I just went on my lunch break to the local office to ask a question and get a document. Before we even walked in the door the security guard stopped us and in the course of the explaining the security on the building he flicked his handcuffs (which were attached to his belt) at me 4 times while telling he would put me in prison if I got an attitude with him. The first time I laughed and said no sir, I’m a law abiding citizen and I don’t have any reason for attitude. I’m just here to ask a question. He threatened me so often and so ferociously that I eventually declined to enter the building. He was not screening people - he was Trying to arrest someone. And since I can control myself but can not control others, I declined to interact further with him. I called the IRS and got my questions answered in a polite and pleasant conversation. What happened at the local office was reminiscent of what I would have expected if entering Communist country while smuggling something illegal. It was not what I expect in the United States. Read moreI did not know we had an IRS office in Bay County. Been living here a long time. I find it in a building that looks very much like an automotive building with garage doors. I walk in 10 minutes before close because I didn't know I needed an appointment. I asked a lady at the front desk if she could help me and by answering question. She was not very helpful. There was a security guard that got a wand out like she was gonna scan me. But she never did. Neither did the The employee even try to help me 10 minutes left. Nobody else in the office didn't even try to help me. Mine she was on the clock still. When you work in restaurants, you have to serve up to the last minute. This lady was telling me very clearly she didn't wanna work. Anyway, I was in a good mood when I got out of my car after having the lady speak to me in that tone and not help me and not be polite. I'm not in a very good mood right now. I would say do yourself a favor and don't go to this IRS and Panama City go to...

I've filed my taxes and can't through to the IRS over the phone (they keep saying that there are too many people calling and to call again later, then they hang up on me). I've been trying to call for a week. Gave up and tried to call the local office and the same thing happened. I went in today after driving 45 minutes to town to make an appointment in person and the guard was rude and turned me away, saying NO ONE in that office knows how to make an appointment. He gave me the run around and told me to keep calling the number that I've been calling for a week....
