So I went to St. Vincent De Paul Thrift in Papillion because I go there often and spend money. I find this beautiful marble table that I just love. Its priced a little high but I have to have it. I pay and back my car up to the store. An employee offers to help load it in my car. As we are loading it she says maybe it would be better if we turn it on its side to fit and before I know it she turns it and the marble falls to the ground and breaks in to peices. She put the pieces back in and went to get her manager. This table costed $114 plus tax. The manager comes out and says well we can give you a $50 store credit. I said....I would prefer a refund. She said sorry that's all we can do. So she gets the general manager Tony on the phone who when I explained what happened he said...so what is your question? I said I would like my money back because this table is now broken. He said there are signs posted everywhere once you buy it, it's yours and employees aren't supposed to be helping people load things in there car in the first place. He then goes on to say if I was truly in the flood then I need to get ahold of someone to get free furniture vouchers. He said he wants me to know how generous he is being by giving me a store credit because no other thrift store would. They give me a store credit for what I paid for the table and the employee put the broken peices of my table in a tote and she apologized several times. I understand accidents happen and dont hold anything at all against her but what a way to be treated by a general manager of a place I have frequented. I will never go back there. If anyone needs this store credit please...
Read moreWe wanted to help out and purchase a new bed set there. We asked several sales people if we could get a twin long. Was told if it was not in stock it could be ordered. Showed up asked the associate for one. Found one marked TL so we bought it and took it home and unpackaged. Figured out then it was not the long mattress. Called back, was told they don't ever sell twin long. Would not take it back even though it had never been slept on. Spoke to manager, R....., I offered to pay a restocking fee or take the refund as a merch. credit. They said no, but they offered to special order us a twin long that we would need to pay for! Any place that sells mattresses will take them back in a reasonable time no question. Even Chicago Mattress has a return policy. Don't buy a...
Read moreThe store is dirty. The stock is broken, chipped, cracked, and not saleable. I was amazed how bad the stock was. I know it's a thrift store but I can't imagine trying to sell things that are broken and glued together. I was very disappointed. There was a time when you could buy some decent things at a reasonable price, those days seem to be gone. I imagine they have new management. I can't believe that they don't have better donations, the stuff that they're selling it's below par..... Considering there are other thrift stores in the area I don't think I'll be frequenting St Vincent de Paul again. Very...
