If I could give 0 stars I would. It's taken me a while to be composed enough to write about this experience so forgive me y'all that this event is dated. I only hope their management and servers have had a change over since. I was pregnant and with my friend catching up. I asked for cheese sauce on one of my enchiladas. She said it would be an upcharge which I said was fine. When I received the bill I was charged somewhere between $4-6 for a whole additional side of queso. Keep in mind I had a very small amount of sauce poured over 1 of my 3 enchiladas. That means it was probably less than 2 oz. I asked the server why I was charged for a whole side when she said it was just an upcharge. She said that's the way it was and refused to change it. I said no, an add on is not the same as an upcharge. I've worked in the restaurant business for 8 years and my husband has for over 10 and is a sous chef. I asked to speak to a manager after she told me she wouldn't change it. The manager approached me and told me a story of how he had been racially profiled in the past for ordering a steak when he was a construction worker. I told him I'm sorry to hear that but if your server is having communication difficulty that's between y'all. Help her understand the difference between an upcharge and an additional side. I wouldn't have agreed to pay $4-6 for what I received. He told me I looked like I could pay for it and refused to change anything about it. He was incredibly rude. On top of that , my friend (the one I went there with) ordered from them online a week later and was charged the appropriate amount for her cheese sauce and it's posted online what the additional charge is (which is not what I was charged). So, long story short... If you want just ok Mexican-american dishes and be racially profiled and treated rudely by all means... Go to La Mesa. I will be going to El...

OMG... I normally love this place but the pass 2 times has been unreal. We haven’t normally had any problem with the food always yummy but we were in there 3wks go the service was TERRIBLE. We were shocked how bad it was. We ordered & the server came back 1 time... We had the hot soup so our drinks would need to be filled at least 1 more time. She would look at the table & head a different direction. I finally went to talk to the manager & shocking she finally brought our stuff. 1 of there servers asked where we were & their response was”OH I know who your server is” then told me don’t stress she will take care of us. The family wanted to go again next week (we loved this place) so I thought okay will try it again but I don’t want the same server. My worse nightmare happened they try to set us in their area I kindly & quietly asked the manager is that our server. His response was yes, “I said can we please set somewhere else” I think he was shocked that I would ask such a thing. When we got to the other table I told him I was sorry but we just had a terrible experience the last time we were in. He asked I told him etc & I said I didn’t want to hurt their feelings & his response was rudely “WELL you & walked away”. So I will never go back into that place again. If he didn’t want to know that his servers are felling then don’t ask just move us like I requested nicely. On a happy note I was very happy with the server we had ... he had waited on us many other times... just said the manager...

Ate at this establishment with my husband and daughter on 9/7/20 around 6pm. Restaurant wasn't very busy. Food was great but the service sucked. Barely greeted. Ordered drinks, which took forever to receive. Was never asked by the server if we wanted appetizers. Took order, we ordered the fajitas for two to share among the 3 of us. Ordered an extra plate with the sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and guacamole, server acted like this was highly abnormal and was a bother and said but you already get two. Then we ordered an extra order of flour tortillas, which we didn't receive, we got the initial amount of 8 but had to spend several minutes explaining that we wanted 12. Not once did the server ask how we were doing with our meal. The server eventually asked if we needed our drinks, pop & water refilled, which was refilled about the time we were leaving. Mentioned the lack of service to my adult daughter, who confirmed that this happened the last time the two of them had eaten there, a couple of weeks ago. The service in the restaurant has clearly declined since the remodel. Will look at spending our hard earned...
