Editing my previous review, bc after paying 100.00 for a diagnostic, and being told what was wrong with my car, turned out to be completely incorrect, not so much for being incorrect, but for the condescending way I was treated. I was told it was the Muti-plex unit, and the part # was listed on the receipt. I researched the part and the install online. I ordered the genuine Honda part and installed it, only to have it do absolutely nothing to fix the problem. I went back in to inquire if it was possible that the part in question (drivers side) maybe wasn't the part that needed to be replaced, and is it possible that it was the passenger side that was faulty? I was told by Eric, that he needed to speak with his technician and could I come back tomorrow. I said no problem and when I did come back, I was told by Eric that ooops, after speaking with the tech, he didn't put down on the receipt that it was indeed both multi plexes that were bad.. . I asked him for the part # and once again I ordered a new multiplex unit, this time for the passenger side. I was not really surprised when the part was installed that it also did absolutely nothing to fix the problem. I called Tuffy back and once again spoke with Eric, who told me that "that's the problem when customers order their own parts." funny, I was thinking the problem wasn't me ordering the part and installing it myself, but more that the car wasn't diagnosed correctly, and then I was lied to about the "other side" being the problem. I wasn't aware that I was obligated to have my car fixed there just because I have it diagnosed there. Eric asked "what do you want me to do about it" I said I just wanted to know what is wrong with my car... he said I could bring it back so they could look at it... uuuuuuuuuhhhhh, you told me one part, then another part, you lied to me,, and you expect me to trust you to actually tell me what's wrong with my car a third time?? What did my $100.00 diagnosis fee pay for???? If you didn't know what was wrong with it, then just say so. I'm in this for over 300.00 for 2 unnecessary parts i cant return & a waste of 100.00 I paid to tell me false info. I've used Tuffy before for oil changes over the years, but would never ever again go there for anything....Buyer beware, just go to the dealer next time, save yourself the BS..
Ok, was able to get appt quick, took over an hr to diagnose the problem, quote to fix was kind of high. Almost 300.00 part, that. I ended up ordering online for 83.00.. I know they have to make...
Read moreI have had multiple poor experiences at this location. The management is extremely unprofessional. Case 1 - I had to wait 30 minutes to pay my bill while standing at the counter while the manager talked on the phone to a friend about updgrades to his car. He told me the other guy was on his lunch break and didn't have much time to talk. So was I. I would guess about 3 different people came in during this time and left because they weren't acknowledged. Case 2 - I recently moved out of state. I called the manager (Dan) and told him that some work his shop had done (about $500 worth of upper ball joints that they had replaced on my vehicle) had to be redone by another shop here in Kentucky. Dan told me that there was nothing that he could do if I couldn't return the car 800 miles back to his shop and that he didn't tell me to move out of state. This sort of response was absurd, but I persisted to ask about any other warranties. I asked if NAPA auto parts would warranty my problem, and Dan put me on hold saying he would call the part house and ask. He picked up with me less than 30 seconds later telling me that he explained everything to them and they couldn't help. If you've ever called a part house, you know that you cant connect with a staff member and explain something like this in that short time frame. So Dan clearly lied to me after disrespecting me as I attempted to have my car properly repaired by another shop. Typical...but the last straw for me. I called Tuffy's management to discuss this and they sent me to the regional manager's voicemail. There has been no return call for weeks now. So my message to potential customers of Tuffy, and this location in particular, is to be very cautious as the lack of concern for the customer appears to come all the way from the...
Read moreCar has not worked. Took it there to repair and the car still does not work. They had to replace the crankshaft sensor 3 times. On November 21st 2018 my car would not start properly. I have engine codes that said multiple engine misfire and catalytic converter. I went to them to fix both of those probmels. I did not get my car back until Friday November 23rd 2018 with a new catalytic converter. The total cost was $854.68. The next day , Saturday November 24th, 2018, the car would not start again. I had to tow the vehile again to this location to get it looked at. They diagnosed the problem as the canister purge and the fuel pressure regulator. The car was not returned to me until Thursday November 29th, 2018. Total cost of this repair was $521.30. This also was for 2 tows on the car since they forgot to charge me for the first tow. The following day, Friday November 30th, 2018, I went to turn on the car and it was having the same issues. Sputtering upon starting, and then dying shotly after. I called Tuffys again and explained that they did not fix the problem the first time, they have had my car for a week, then need to fix my problem and i should be comped for the repairs that did not solve the problem. They informed me that everything was a problem and there is no way they can comp me for anything and informed me a new fuel pump is going to run me at around $635. I should have to pay for parts and labor they do on my car if it doesnt fix the problem. If the problem was not the canister purge, why am I pay for that? If the problem was not the fuel pressure regultor, why am I paying for that? If the problem is the fuel pump, why do i still have to pay for the prts that were never bad? I have paid well over $1400 to get this car to run and the work that i am paying for is not fixing...
