Not welcoming to newcomers. It's very clique-sh, they only dance with certain people. I'm not afraid to ask men to dance, but I was refused a few times, so I stopped asking. Thus I didn't get as much dancing in as I would have liked. Apparently the seats are saved as well. I got "kicked" out of the chair I was in two times. (there was nothing on or under the chair that I sat in to indicate it was already taken). After the first bad experience, I went again one week later, hoping for a better experience. NOPE. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt by going a second time. I've been dancing 20 years, I've been to a several studios (in Phx, Las Vegas, and SLC), this was the worst experience. If you have a partner to go with, it would be a better experience I'm sure. But for an experienced dancer coming alone, I did not feel welcome. I will NOT be going back again. They lost me as a customer and I will be telling others about it,...
Read moreI have resided in Las Vegas since 2020, but it's taken me three years to FINALLY make it over to the highly regarded Ballroom Addiction property. My first impressions of this truly remarkable Dance Studio were: 1) it was as tastefully elegant on the inside as it was on the outside, 2) the 'dance party organizers' were not merely welcoming, but made me feel as if I were a member of their family, and 3) the guests attending were universally cheerful, hospitable, and delightful...with wonderful manners! If only Las Vegas had more public places like Ballroom Addiction!! If only!! On the following week I visited again to make sure my first visit wasn't a pleasant hallucination. Happily, it doesn't seem like I was delusional or hallucinatory. :)
If you're looking for a "best-of-class" social venue, I can state with a full-throat and unconflicted heart: Ballroom Addiction is worthy of your...
Read more10 STARS!! As a retired dance instructor, I sincerely feel this is the very finest ballroom studio I have EVER danced in. Dancers in Las Vegas are incredibly fortunate to have such a huge and safe floor to dance on (no thin wood veneers here so no back ache, foot or knee pain!), and it's a regulation competition size to boot! Excellent sound system too.
The benefits of this studio extend even beyond the 3 ballrooms. This is a heavily credentialed staff in both American and International styles. Attention to proper technique is obvious and quite present in even the newest student.
It is also worth mentioning how very helpful and friendly both staff and students are here. No cliques as everyone is equally valued. My only regret is that I only live in LV for a short part of the year because I would really like to dance here more...
