Trimmed down my collection of miniatures by selling them to the Secondhand Store, and used the funds to get some new toys from the online shop. 1st off, the process to sell my old models was very easy and painless, and the quote they gave me was quite generous. Very happy with my experience from the Secondhand Store.
2nd, they have a very good selection of games and products on the online store, all at very good discounts. I got a lot of nice stuff i had been looking for, and it shipped quite quickly; i got it within 5 days of placing the order. My only frustration with the online store was that the products are not all that well-protected; they dont put much packing material in the boxes, so most of the games i ordered arrived a bit bruised and banged up. This isn't a deal breaker per se, especially since i got the items at a discount and used store credit from the items I sold to them. But, it is a bit frustrating when the awesome box art from the shiny new game you ordered is creased and dented... For example, my copy of Necromunda: Ash Wastes (the box art would've been absolutely display worthy) arrived with a giant crease on the top, and dents on the sides. A shame, but at least the plastic inside was ok.
3rd, they sell very nice neoprene gaming mats; I picked one up for Necromunda and it is gorgeous. Came with its own carrying bag as well, a nice extra. Very pleased with the gaming mat.
All in all, i will probably stick to using the Secondhand Store for great deals both buying and selling, and I might give the painting service a try too. I will probably pick up some more gaming mats in the future as well. I will probably avoid purchasing big shiny new boxed games, as it kinda hurts my soul when the lovely big box comes damaged. I have a nice big shelf where i like to display my games, and all of the big boxes i have purchased from the online store (Warcry: Catacombs, Dungeonbowl, and Necromunda: Ash Wastes) have all arrived too banged up for display purposes. I will probably just stick to my FLGS for those types of purchases going forward.
So, there you have it; a hopefully fair but generally positive review. I have appreciated most of the aspects of Frontline Gaming, and minor quibbles about damaged cardboard aside, they are a very good place to get a great deal. The damaged boxes are the only thing holding this down to 4 stars...
Read moreI recently (27 November) ordered two gaming mats from this company. International shipping on their website, at checkout, was listed as $60 USD. Today I have received an email stating that my order has been cancelled, with my money to be refunded within the next two working days, because quote "as your mailing address is not supported with our courier rates. Shipping alone on these would be $291 USD...". Your company falsely listed international shipping rates. I strongly suggest you have that part of your checkout updated to reflect the true cost of international shipping. Your company didn't even address me by name, or even have the common decency to name the person who sent the email. Pathetic!
This is the reply I received " Response from the owner 3 hours ago Hello Mikejo, I am very sorry to hear that you are not happy with our service. As sincerely mentioned in our e-mail communication about your order update, during the holiday seasons unfortunately shipping prices surge especially to far away lands like Australia. We try our hardest to mitigate these prices and offer the cheapest option through out the year. But are not able to predict these surges during the holidays and unfortunately can only eat so much of the cost which is why we offered the best solution we had available. Again I apologize for the inconvenience but hope you are able to get your hands on some awesome mats! Happy wargaming and happy holidays from the Frontline Team."
This is the only way I can respond to this. You made no offer, you just cancelled the order and sent through a refund. You could have contacted me, before cancelling my order, to explain the situation. You could have offered to have my order shipped at a later date when shipping prices returned to their...
Read moreFrontline Gaming is an amazing group with fantastically skilled artists. I've never had any miniatures painted by anyone else before, and when I decided to get a McFlarlane figure as a cabinet display of my favorite 40k Chapter, I wanted it done right and they were the group most recommended.
And I can see why. The finished piece is phenomenal. Infinity better than anything I could have ever done. Their communication is solid and they kept me in the loop on every step. It is a bit of a long process, but it was very much worth the wait.
When my figure came up in the artist queue, they had updated pictures going along and my jaw dropped when I saw the skills applied. Every detail I asked for was accommodated and details I didn't even think of, like text on the wrist communicator, were done fantastically.
As would apply to this figure, the articulation points have all been maintained and are no more loose nor stiff than I'd expect a fresh figure to be, still very pose able. Pricing was fair, especially given the size of the figure compared to a normal Primaris miniature.
This was well worth the time and money and I am so glad I got it done by real professionals and I will recommend them to anyone who wants an ideal...
