I feel bad that my review represents the helicopter experience AND the ground experience, because unfortunately they are very different.. I would give the helicopter experience we had 5 stars! My mom and I really enjoyed our tour with pilot Chris (from Norway)! He gave great picture opportunities, created a fun atmosphere with his jokes, pointed out excellent landmarks and gave interesting history/backstory to go with it. On the other hand, the ground transportation they have is an absolute mess. The “limousine” was 20 minutes early and called my mom asking where we were. After clarifying we were on our way down, driver Ben texted my mom saying that he was in a “black van” (his words). Even they know they don’t have a limo! Ben was very nice and welcomed us onboard where there was other people there (which was not communicated). We went to the Rio and after 10 minutes of waiting, Ben was redirected to go 15 minutes out (and back) from where we were to pick up a different couple instead (overall, at least 45 minutes in the initial pickup van for a supposed 7 minute drive). After the incredible helicopter experience, we head outside to find Ben. He politely asked how the ride was and we made small talk and almost on the way to the ACTUAL limo to go back to our hotel when he was quickly redirected to drop off another couple first. Clearly thrown off, Ben apologized and told us he would be back for us soon. After about 40 minutes and multiple contradicting stories about what happened, another guy came in and took us all who wanted to just leave. We went out to another black van and he drove us back, and luckily there was only one time he slammed on the breaks and our heads ended up in our neighbors laps! After speeding, he somehow dropped us off after an hour of being in the “limo.” We think it’s not any of the Papillon staff’s fault as they genuinely look like they are just as confused with the instructions they’re given as we are, but rather the dispatchers’ disorganization. Overall, Ben, Joyce and especially Chris were great but the “limo” service was very sketchy. If you want a limousine experience, book your own instead of...

I recently took a helicopter tour with Papillon Helicopter Tours in Las Vegas, and while the experience itself had its thrilling moments, there were significant issues that left a sour taste in my mouth.
First, let’s talk about the actual helicopter ride. The views of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding areas were stunning, and the thrill of soaring above the city is hard to beat. However, what was advertised as a 12-minute flight turned out to be just a 5-minute journey from takeoff to landing. This left us feeling shortchanged, especially considering the price we paid. It’s worth noting that this could have been an isolated incident, but it was disappointing nonetheless.
The real frustration began when we arrived at the tour location. The staff member assisting us suggested that some of us could pay an additional $30 to sit in the front of the helicopter for a better view. While it seemed like a tempting offer, it quickly became apparent that this was somewhat of a scam. As we were a group of six, we would have been sitting in the front regardless. It felt misleading to be encouraged to pay for something we would eventually have access to without the additional charge.
Overall, the combination of a significantly shorter flight than expected and the questionable upselling left us feeling dissatisfied. We walked away feeling somewhat cheated on what was supposed to be a memorable experience. Given the high cost of the tour, it’s disappointing to have left with such a feeling.
In conclusion, while the helicopter ride itself is exhilarating and offers breathtaking views, the customer service and transparency regarding pricing leave much to be desired. If you decide to book with Papillon, be prepared for potential upsells and make sure to clarify the flight duration upfront. I’d recommend exploring other options that might offer a more straightforward and...
Read moreWe had a helicopter tour called The Strip Lights tour (something like that) and I have to say I am amaze with how nice people in Vegas are, including everybody in Papillon Helicopters. From the people at the front desk, drivers, pilots, everybody’s just so nice and caring, I mean, I’m really grateful for that because we just don’t get that king of service very often. Going back to the tour; MY experience was not the best. I was assigned the first seat to the right, back row. And at first I was so excited because I thought “window view, yas!” But when the helicopter took off all the good view was on the left side, where I couldn’t see because the other people were trying to see too, and taking photos and videos, leaving me no choice but to just see to my left where there was just the community, nothing to see. But I was ok with that because I thought that when the helicopter turned back I would have the view to my right, but when it did it was still to the left side. I left the place very sad because I was so waiting for this tour since we made our reservation back in Puerto Rico. I think what the company can do better is to put cheaper prices to the last one or two seats on the right side, since they don’t have the same experience, or at least let customers know that those seats have limited views. Also, I don’t know what can or can’t helicopters do when in the air, but if it was possible to fly one way with the view to the left and then to the right, that would be perfect and everybody...
