Belk — Local services in Paragould

I took my daughter there for "dress"clothing after she was selected for an official position in her college Honors Society. I asked that someone help her as I wanted HER to choose her clothing for that ceremony. The manager selected a woman who pulled together 3 lovely outfits by listening to what my daughter wanted,and sat with her to make sure each one fit just right. Afterward she selected shoes and a handbag for my daughter to try for each ensemble.This dear woman spent around 3 HOURS at this task, and I couldn't have been happier with the choices they made together. I wanted her to make these choices without me as it is HER big day. She is such a respectful young adult that she would have worn what I selected for her. She has earned a 4.0, and she should make the night of the pinning and medals, her night, 100%. The clothing selected is very well made and all 3 could be mixed and matched with the other. I love Belks myself and have shopped there since I was 16 and the store was Downtown. You will not meet more friendly and helpful staff and everything you need from clothing for the family, to perfume,cosmetics and even sleepwear and under clothing,shoes. and even a few items for your home. Everything is therein one stop. They also have the BEST sales! I wouldnt shop anywhere else for clothing,and the choices can be trusted to last and the staff...

For as long as I can remember, my mom’s favorite store to shop at was Belks in Paragould, AR. Yesterday, I was excited to shop there for a dress that I could wear for my 2nd wedding. I just wanted something simple and summery and I knew I would find that at Belks. To my shock and surprise, when I walked into that store, it looked like a huge cluttered mess! No organization at all! It was so disorganized, and disgusting. The employees were just standing around talking to each other and no one was trying to straighten up the shelves or racks. There were clothes in the floor and tossed everywhere. Such a BIG disappointment! I asked a sales associate if they had anything in the category I was searching for and she said she thought they might be something up front. There was one, one piece was all they had and I had to literally dig through the racks to find it. Seriously, corporate needs to visit this store and get some good management in there to put that store back together the way it used to be. It appears to be a store that may be going out of...

Two stars is stretching it. I'm standing in this store right now waiting to be acknowledged. The employees are on their phone. I have shopped specifically at this store for all of my dress shirts and ties, and I have always been able to get measurements for proper fitment. I have been sent to three different employees on my personal search for a measuring tape rather than the employees helping me find a measuring tape. As I'm making this review, I hear another woman say "she sent me here", so this store is obviously full of employees who are "that's not my job" type of people.

I was just handed the tape measure to do my own fitting. Edit: I lowered my two star review to one star. The reason is because the person I was shopping with asked for help as well, and she was told to "just go up to the counter and see if they will knock some off." I have been shopping at Belk since I was a kid, and I would rather shop at Walmart than spend a dime at this place now. We will not be back.
