The deal- "It's time for another limited mystery box, this time it's the Limited ARP9 Mystery Box! Only 15 of these boxes have been built, and one of them has a G&G ARP9 ($284 value) inside!
Don't worry, if you don't win you'll still get $120 worth of guns and gear!
These will go quick, so pick yours up today! Also, be sure to check out our Limited Avalon PDW Mystery Box!"
But it wrongly had the Avalon PDW Mystery box at $99 which I informed them of because it was an obvious mistake.
George, The email wrongly says the Avalon PDW mystery box is $99.
The reply-
"Thanks John!
I think the price got swapped around with the ARP9 box.
George"
Ok, no problem. So I order the Avalon PDW box for $249 and include in the comments the following- "Hey guys, we mostly play cqb but are interested in trying an outdoor event. I have two loadouts multicam and mylticam black. I have 5 TM 5.1 hicapas all with air adapters tanks/hoses and regulators for each so please no co2 unless there is something like a chiappa rhino requiring it. I have a picture rifle but would like more the avalon pdw or an arp556 I'm also a fan of the keltec rdb I have a real one. Also interested in snipers. I'm still rocking a rental mask. we (my son and I)use .20g tracer bbs. Sizes are small and Large."
I opened the box on Christmas and received the ARP9 battleship Grey version and an AK patch. Surely they didn't mix up the mystery boxes and send me the $99 ARP9 mystery box....did they?
I emailed them- 12/25/2022 George,
I went for it and got myself the $249 avalon mystery box and while I know there's no guarantee of what you'll get just that it will be worth more than you pay and the battleship Grey ARP9 is a good looking gun it doesn't seem fair or honest to me that I got the $99 ARP9 mystery box prize and a patch for 2.5x the price and not even a battery. I just checked and it looks like I straight up paid full price for the ARP9.
John The replies- 12/27/2022 "Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out about this. Would you mind sending a photo of the gun you received?
Thank you, George"
I replied with requested pictures 12/27/2022 I emailed again 1/2/2023 because I had gotten no response.
The following reply was sent on 1/5/2023
"Thanks for being patient John. The battleship grey model has a retail value of $289.99. I believe the one in the screenshot is the standard black model. Let me know if you have any further questions!
George"
I have since been called and left a voice mail but seem to be in a phone tag situation. I feel mislead, cheated and brushed off. I know there is no guarantee in mystery boxes and no returns but I think it's reasonable to at least receive the correct mystery box. I have a G&G Pcc9 and was very clear about not wanting anything that takes those mags I thought but then again no guarantees.
Math $99 mystery box = minimum $120 to $284 $249 mystery box = should be about $300 to $399($464.99 not on sale)

Read morePrices are in line with online retailers but the service has been horrible in my two visits. Initially, it worked in my favor by getting charged the cheaper price for a more expensive model. It will also work against you, though. I wanted to be sure that the upgrade part would work for my M4 but the kid at the counter was wrong and assured me that it would work when it is actually for an AK. It would've tore-up my nozzle, tappet plate, and possibly the gearbox. Not cool, kid! They said that they'll swap it out, no issue, but you shouldn't have to throw two stones for one bird. They were short staffed so I rushed into ASG tracer BBs (because they wouldn't have more Elite Force BBs for at least a month) that they assured me were biodegradable. It doesn't say on the bottle, but none of the ASG BBs say that they're biodegradable when some of them actually are. I trusted the kid working but was skeptical so a search online showed me that they are, in fact, not biodegradable. Not the biggest issues in the world but I can get what I actually need from Evike.com. Fox will tell you that there is a Green Gas shortage and expect you to believe it when it's mostly just their supply chain issue. Evike.com has Green Gas and biodegradable BBs of all weights for days. There's really no point in going to the store anymore, other than to return the incorrect parts; of course! I'm all for mom and pop but they're just not cutting the cake! Last "Giveaway" for the 4th of July was marketed with the giveaway of a VFC, but on the day of the game there was no VFC to be found. When I asked about this they put the blame on their sponsor Elite Force for not getting it to them. If you advertised it just pull it from your shelves. Otherwise that's false advertising; classic bait and switch! I'm truly done spending my money at Fox. Online has been a much better...
Read moreThere's a really odd aspect about fox airsoft that I think most people would enjoy; it feels like a mom-and-pop shop. Now, I don't know if it is or not, but I can tell you that the staff and other folks around there aren't there to solely make a profit, but because they enjoy the sport of airsoft and wanted to turn a passion into a position.
Staff are friendly. Not GENERALLY friendly, friendly without exception. The one time I felt that an employee was mean to me, I was apologized to before the sun went down that day. Now, fox airsoft is a large company, and they could absolutely afford to have staff that might be mean sometimes by hiring people who might not be the right 'fit', but time and time again i waltz into this shop and get help.
I know a lot of other reviews focus on aspects like "Oh, well the gun was nice" and "they have a good selection", but it's also worth noting how respectful staff are. There have been times in the past where I go to this shop solely because I'm having a bad day and want to make small chat, and after all the customers clear out, we do.
I can't play airsoft anymore. I work an overnight on Saturday and that prevents me from going to the field, and thus, going to the store, but Fox Airsoft is still, despite that, in my top 10 most visited places. Not in Colorado, EVER. If you exclude home and work, it's actually number 2.
This was my favorite shop for a long time. I hope it...
