Park Shopping Center — Local services in Parkersburg

Great place and prices, but I end up leaving my stuff and walking out 1 out of 4 trips because their checkout process is slow, diaasterously disorganized (often double charged due to no physical flow of merchandise and ringing up...or bagging till end of process all done haphazardly at best). Add to that understaffed and undertrained checkout personnel and it sometimes makes it to much to make the wait and auditing of receipts worth the great selection and good pricing. And it's been run like that since day one, with the same problems at checkout since day one!

Otherwise, love the store and selection, but if you go during a busy time you'll quickly learn why one and four times I leave without checking out and leave a pile of stuff...

Love Rural King for pet products. It is my absolute go-to for many different kinds of bird feed. They have decent prices and a wide variety of bagged bird food in different sizes, in both premium and budget types of feed. They even have bulk bird seed products for those who don't need very much or want a specific kind they can't find in a ready-made bag. Since I discovered the wonderful variety of bird seed at Rural King, I really have not gone anywhere else to buy it. They also have great popcorn to buy, and you can get a free bag to eat while going through the store. The flock of pigeons outside will be more than happy to eat any leftovers you have on...

I go to Pat Catan's. They leave a lot to be desired, but they are pretty much the only local option. Missing prices on entire displays, randomly putting items in a second location. Recent changes (as of 8/21/18) have various art supplies spread out where it's hard to find anything. Art books were in 3 different aisles, not even based on medium or topic. Paints were in 5, 2 of which were all mixed together in a jumble. I finally got a price for what I wanted. The sale price was reasonable, but the regular price means ordering online because with shipping will still be cheaper. If it's not on sale or being gotten rid of, the prices are...
