April 9, 2024 @ 4pm. I was in the area after a movie matinee. I'm new to this area so I was googling shops to visit. I needed a dress for an event this weekend and decided to go with a boutique for something unique. I am very much aware of what that might mean in price. I walked into Fab'Rik in Norcross, Ga and greeted both of the young ladies. I'm a friendly person and always ready to converse of the employee is willing because, well good customer interaction equals good customer service. No one really wants to assist a dry customer. I continued on to look at the items I found interest in. One employee was at the register with a customer. The customer finished and left. A blue dress and jacket caught my attention and I was about to ask a question about the sizes. When I looked towards them, I was shocked by the snoody stare they both gave me. Both of them with their noses wrinkles up. Even as I stood there looking at them with an expression of disgust on their faces, they did not change their expression nor look away. So I walked away from the items and left the store. It was pretty humiliating. I'm not sure if it was against protocol for me to start browsing without them, my casual clothes or my skin tone. But it was very clear that I was not welcome. I didn't want to go to another shop, being that the ladies in the shop right next door were taking turns looking at each other each time I spoke as if "Hello how are you?" was offensive. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I opted for going to Belk's(right across the parking lot) and I received the assistance, customer service and friendliness that I had expected from a boutique on top of that I opened up a line of credit at Belk and received a nice discount, plus a gift card. I spent a lot less than I had planned to spend in a boutique. I guess all things worked out as they should have but I was really shocked at how these young ladies treated me. I personally like having a few items that can't be found anywhere else so that's why I shop boutiques. But I won't shop where I'm not wanted. I hope this is not what I have to expect in boutiques in Norcross,Ga. Not the experience I...
