I won’t be returning to this location simply because of the manager. All of the other individuals that work at the front desk that I have interacted with, have been nothing but kind. Today was the third interaction that I have had with the manager at this location- in two of the events my 8 month old was sick and definitely needed to be seen by a doctor same day. The first time she rudely informed me that there were no sick day appointments, and directed me to urgent care or a different practice. We took our business to a different clinic (outside of the TC network) and the physician suspected that my daughter may have RSV.
The next interaction I had was regarding a billing issue that was their clinics fault. We were in a two week transition period from one insurance provider to another. I had removed our insurance from MyChart, marked my intake form with “do not bill insurance,” and made it known not to bill insurance when we checked in for the appointment. Somehow they still billed our previous insurance provider, leaving us with an astronomical bill. When I went in the next time, I discussed it with one of the kind ladies that works the front desk who assured me they would fix it. When the manager came out to handle, she accused me of not taking the appropriate actions to not bill insurance. The woman helping me assured her that I did, and then was the one who eventually got it fixed for me.
My third interaction with the front desk manager was today. My child is sick again with a double ear infection- it appears that the antibiotics may not be working and that she may need something in addition to the current medication. An on call nurse helped guide me through next steps and said that my child needed to be seen today. She called the office directly first while I remained on hold- she came back and said they did not answer. So we called the main office line together- the manager answered and I told her my child’s situation and said we needed a sick appointment today if at all possible. She was extremely rude to me (not knowing that the nurse was on the line), told me that the way I handled calling their office after talking to the nurse was incorrect and there were no appointments today. The on call nurse then made it known that she was on the phone with me, and the manager began to ARGUE with her on the phone while I was on the line. The nurse remained quiet while the manager made an absolute fool of herself as she continued to share that we shouldn’t have called for an appointment and that she had “18 people on the line who all need appointments today and there are none, so.” She did not even appropriately end her side of the call, I simply told her “you did not have to be so rude about it,” and she said “okay,” and left the conversation. Quite frankly, I don’t care if the nurse didn’t follow the protocol exactly- you don’t treat a customer that way. Especially someone who is trying to take care of their child.
Needless to say, I’ve had enough with this location and will not be returning. I did like the doctors, but not enough to deal with any more rude...
Read moreWe just recently have a new born and are the first time parents. My wife, being the full time stay home mom, does have her ups and downs with our son which recently got her a bit gloomy from what I observed. When we came visit Dr. Valicek for our son's routine check, my wife put down "slight emotional distressed" on the questionnaire without thinking too much of it. That was a Friday afternoon and we were her last appointment. Our son's check up went well and we just went home afterwards. At 7:30PM, we got a phone call from Dr. Valicek. She spent 20 min listening to my wife, sharing her personal experiences of being a mom, and making sure my wife was ok before she hung up. After that call, I could feel my wife was instantly better. I am a doctor myself and coming from a doctor standard, we know that she truly cares about her patients. Seriously, who calls their patients at 7:30PM on a Friday night? People are usually half way drunk by the time. Thank you Dr. Valicek, we are forever grateful. **Special shout out to Mr. Roger. Hats down to you with all the respect for doing one of the toughest jobs in the world : giving shots to kids! Thanks for all you do, brotha! lol
2022/2/4 : 3 years later FYI There is a reason we stay with Dr. Valicek all these years. We had another scare with our son recently so we were sent to Texas Children in Med Center for another semi emergency ultrasound. As we were done with the scan and waiting on the results anxiously, Dr. Valicek called the same very day we done with the scan to discuss the result cuz she knew how nerve wrecking it could be to be waiting. Long story short, it was all well. It was 7:30pm on a Friday. The weekend would have been ruined if she didn’t call to inform the good news. Thank you again, Dr. Valicek.
ps. Go home, doc. Don't...
Read moreWorst customer service skills on the phone. I was told that "the inconvienince I experienced was not their fault", yet they scheduled me wrong the first time. I made my appointment in May for the next well visit, the receptionist at the desk did the math and chose the day. Happened to be Halloween but I didn't care. I thought it would be fun since I know the staff and doctors dress up. Well, 2 weeks before my appointment they call me to reschedule. The lady who made the appointment miscounted and only did 5 months when it was supposed to be 6 months. Basic counting but ok. I was disappointed I didn't get to visit on Halloween but ok. Then in November they began calling to reschedule that appointment because the Dr wouldn't be in that day. It's happened many times in the past with other appointments so I have always agreed. But when I stressed my frustration about being rescheduled AGAIN, the lady told me "well it's nothing we did so it's not our fault".
Ummmmmmm. Ok. At what point am I at fault here. The front staff is rarely friendly, the medical assistants used to be competent, and the phlebotomist they have in the back took several tries and some digging with the needle to find my daughter's vein. I'm not sure I feel safe here anymore.
Dr Lindsay is the only saving grace. She understands, listens, and works with you if you have reservations on certain vaccines or concerns.
I have a had on several occasions where I played sit on the phone for an hour to get the prescriptions sent again.
I fully understand that the office is busy and has a ton of patients, but my kids mean the world to me and it seems they are nothing to...
