I brought my mom to the Ulta salon for a haircut with Adriana on 3/3/2020 and the experience was awful!!! After I introduced us I asked Adriana if she spoke Spanish because my mom only speaks Spanish, she said yes, which was great because now my mom was able to tell Adriana exactly what she wanted her new hairstyle to be in her own words. She showed her a picture of a pixie cut and Adriana looked at me and asked me (in English) if my father gave my mother permission for her to go that short in length because Hispanic men prefer longer hair. Unbelievable!!!! I told her my mother is totally capable of making all of the creative choices regarding her hairstyle, and that she should cut the hair as she saw it in the picture. Fast forward after the wash and Adriana was still trying to figure out why my mother insisted on short hair, as if trying to persuade her otherwise. We again had to reassure her that the style was my mothers choice, and to cut away. Well she didn’t. She cut and styled the hair and left my mom with what looked like a bowl haircut and chops on the side, we told her that the style looked nothing like the picture, and she said , “ I know, i left it longer.” Why do that? We asked her to please cut it to the desired length and after not one, but two additional haircuts, she left it to a length that somewhat resembled what the picture my mom showed her in the very beginning. It took more than 2 hours to do this. The girls in that salon are running what can only be described as an indoor swap meet salon inside of an Ulta store, where you ask for one thing and get another. Adriana lacks experience, and etiquette. At one point she complained about hair in her shoes to her manager, who approached us just before leaving. The manager looked so unprofessional as she carried her red iPhone stuffed in her bra. The whole experience was horrible. I came in to get re-colored match and they said I could do an even exchange for the products so I left the products at the counter. I got color matched and decided to do some more shopping after. Well, I was checking out the E.L.F section and I could overhear the lady who color matched me telling the girl up front that I had left without exchanging the products. She mentioned the exact shades she gave me so I knew she was talking about me because right after I heard that, I went to put them back and she said, “I'm so sorry, I thought you left.” She had already notified her manager and she had to cancel on that. The lady up front also apologized but the damage was done. I no longer felt comfortable and didn't want to proceed with the exchange as well as buy anything else. I just asked for my money back.
