The first and only time I've come into this shop, and I ask the hipster looking person for a little back story on how they had so many rare titles and products. I was addressed with the most disrespectful "I don't know, I just work here. We do over the counter sales and have been in business since 2016. I don't leave many reviews ever, but as a local I'm so annoyed with how he addressed my question, that I honestly don't know if I want to come back. Get someone who knows how to talk to people without attitude, or this business is doomed in this area. Real dang shame.
Edit 9/28 it was my first time in the store, and the fact that your implying my interaction with you was "weird" already speaks volumes to the interaction I had with you. You are biased to how you sound, while I am unbiased because I have no idea who you were, as it was my first interaction with you. I gain nothing from leaving an honest review. You also confirmed that other people asking normal questions about the establishment was "weird". I took issue with your tone, which can not be conveyed in a review. "There are many locals that have spent some quality time observing some of the strange interactions that have happened etc..." How is this relevant to my interaction with you? It was just you, me, and my girlfriend in the store, and 2 out of 3 people felt you had an attitude. I will not be returning which is a shame because the cabinet with the Atari 2600 components looked extremely intriguing. This is also before I asked for any pricing. I literally walked in, asked a few questions which you confirmed, and left because I hated your short, dismissive tone.
Edit 10/01 You confirmed I asked you only 2 questions. How is that interrogating? How is that a weird interaction? I asked 2 simple questions and you are still fighting about it. I gain absolutely nothing from this bantering with you, however I refuse to say nothing about how my interaction with you went. All I did was ask 2 questions, left a neutral review of 3 stars stating I thought the tone was dismissive. We could've agreed to disagree but instead you fire back stating my interaction was weird when the 2 questions I asked were pretty normal for a new customer entering an establishment they've never been in before, ESPECIALLY a niche hobby that the new customer is passionate about. All I did was ask 2 questions and you call my interaction weird. That makes absolutely no sense from a business perspective.
Customers should ABSOLUTELY be able to "interrogate" about things they are PAYING MONEY FOR. As someone who is extremely particular about things I pay for, especially tech, you're dang right I'm going to ask questions. I didn't even get a chance to "interrogate" you. 2 questions hardly counts as an interrogation. So if you felt interrogated at my 2 questions about what you're selling in the store, you are in the...
Read moreHorrible experience. Walked in and asked where the arcade was, due to their being a sign in the window. Some older man looked at me and said it’s this building down stairs I had replied okay I’m out of town and never been here before, can you show me how to get there?
He replied saying, I already told you, why don’t you leave now, they don’t want you here. I genuinely did not know what he meant saying in this building down stairs as it was an extremely messy coin shop with no video game arcade details insight. But to immediately jump to the “we don’t want you here” after trying to find the entrance as a tourist from out of town is very unappealing and unwelcoming. I see multiple reviews complaining about this same guy.
And yes I did have some words to say to the older man, as he was a very un professional jerk
EDIT: The owners reply shows the way he treats his customers as he blatantly admits he doesn’t want me there because I was confused on how to find the entrance. So what you’re telling me is, if a customer is confused on a topic, that you don’t want to associate yourselves with them, or to help them, but to instead, insult them.
The common consensus is, your shop has MULTIPLE of the same review. The fact that your replies on everyone’s 1 star reviews are just you pointing fingers is enough for the public to see. That being said, I advise Amazon over this...
Read moreExtremely rude shop owner and employee! I am currently in Petoskey for my birthday and wanted to check this place out. I was looking all over the place for it and finally ended up in this coin shop and asked the people behind the counter if they knew where the arcade was. In a rude tone and demeanor said, “ it’s here,” and I replied, “oh great! Is there a separate entrance, or is it downstairs?” They both then replied, rolling their eyes “ it’s down those stairs, and it’s 5 dollars admission.” I then asked, “would it be okay if I took a look around, so I can tell my wife what it looks like and see if something we would like to do?” They both replied in a rude tone and said, “ yeah, for $5 admission, you can look around.” I will never come here or ever recommend anyone to check it out! Very rude and not welcoming...
