1530 Chestnut Apartments — Local services in Philadelphia

We lived in the building for 9 months, moved in right after it was acquired by a new management company. At that time, the place was quite run-down, but during our stay, it has significantly improved and become a much nicer place to live.

A huge shoutout to the building maintenance team - Tony and Carmen. We didn’t have many issues in our apartment, but whenever something came up, Tony was quick to fix it. Carmen has done a great job keeping the building clean. The team works incredibly hard to improve the building and make it better for everyone. And they are successful!

The location is right in the heart of the city—very central, very close to everything, but gets sometimes busy. We didn’t experience much noise in our apartment (although our apt was mainly facing the inner alley).

Since Bo took over as building manager, things have really improved. It’s very easy to schedule maintenance through the portal now, and any issues I’ve had have been taken care of quickly. The building is older, so there are occasionally problems with the water or elevators, but we always get updates and a rough timeline for when things will be fixed—which definitely wasn’t the case with the last management. Things are usually addressed that same day, or that week. Bo’s been really responsive and proactive, and I’m confident he’ll keep making positive, lasting changes for everyone living here. I really do love my apartment and the location-- I'm happy with the changes that have been made over the past year or so, and I know things will only continue...

This is hands down the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. The property management company is non-responsive and non-existent. The water shuts off all of the time without warning. Packages get stolen and opened. The elevators are always breaking down. The windows don’t close fully so cold and hot air comes and goes as it pleases. The paint is chipping off the walls in the bathroom. The greatest gift I could ever receive is the ability to break my lease early. I hate this place and will never recommend anyone to live here. I’d give negative stars...
