Escalator accident! I feel that I should write a review to warn everyone who is planning to visit this store.
I visited this store today at about 5/6pm for the first time. The escalator suddenly stopped working while I was riding down. Luckily, I was be able to hold on tight to the handrail and that I did not roll down the escalator. However, my wrist felt a little pull and hurt for a little bit while I was still in the store. It was also very fortunate that I was the only one who was riding on it and I did not bring my kids with me. Otherwise, I or my kids might got push down the escalator like pieces of domino. After that, I walked slowly down the escalator steps. Immediately, I saw a staff holding a set of keys coming towards me at the last step of the escalator. I mentioned to him that I was on the escalator when it stopped working. He then asked me if I was hurt. I told him that there was no major injury but my wrist hurt a little. Maybe because there was no major injury, he then just kept on walking toward the escalator. I also continued my browsing around the bottom floor. Because there wasn't anything I needed on that floor, I turned around to use the escalator to go back up to the ground floor (it was less than 5 mins). Within about 5 mins, the downward escalator reoperated again. I assumed that the staff who walked towards me with a set of keys, was the staff who turn the escalator back on. I cannot confirm because I did not see it happened.
This is my experience today at this store. So make sure you hold on tight to the moving handrail while you are on...
Read moreI wish I could give this particular store and the general customer service for Uniqlo a lower review. I and some friends were long time customers of Uniqlo until this particular situation currently ongoing. I purchased some items at the Chestnut St Philly store at the end of February while traveling through. I didn't notice until a couple weeks later while unpacking my bags at home in a state nowhere near a Uniqlo store that the security device wasn't removed on one of the items. I was told that my only option of getting this fixed was to FedEx the item back to the store of purchase including a copy of my receipt and my mailing address on their form - which I did - and that my item would be mailed back. Almost two months later, I still don't have my paid for item back and no one is resolving this issue. Luckily, I have the FedEx confirmation of shipping and receiving dates, and I will continue to fight this. It's just absurd that there is not a better system for handling this, that I haven't been offered a refund or anything for all the trouble that I've gone through and will continue to go through for an item that I paid for already in store. The manager of this store has been sent an email over a week ago by Uniqlo customer service, copying me, and still hasn't...
Read moreMy gripe with this is not a matter of the selection or pricing, but with the customer service. I had a shocking engagement with a man in the downstairs dressing room. I had brought two items into the room with my girlfriend. When he removed the plastic from a shirt I brought in, he proceded to drop the shirt, make me pick it up, and furiously slam the door behind me for apparent or necessary reason. After trying the shirt on, taking it back to the floor, and getting one a size down, I was given a "3" card to signify three items when I only had two (this was clearly visible to the attendant as he saw us remove the original shirt). When I left the dressing room, he screamed at my girlfriend, who wasn't even the one in the dressing, demanding to know where the third went, when she placed it back in plain view. The attitude of this bumbling mouth breather dissuaded from purchasing an outfit that suited me. Also, the...
