ALDI — Local services in Philadelphia

Went after work on a Friday and I'm so glad we now have an Aldi near us. This is a huge amenity and game changer for our neighborhoods - an actual affordable grocery store with good food and home stuff. The store is of course very clean right now and I hope it stays that way. They have a great Aldi Finds section which I'm excited about. Plenty of carts. I could see checkout getting busy and backed up because they dont have self checkout. If you're not familiar with Aldi, then I'd recommend stopping by - just bring a quarter for the shopping carts and your own bags. I hear there is free parking under the building.

Downsides: I didn't see bike parking, which is something I would need to make this even more convenient. No self checkout, so even if youre buying one item you have to wait in line. This isn't be my favorite Aldi because of...

Have always been an Aldi supporter. However, I bought some grass-fed NY strip on 7/23 from this location with a sell-by date of 7/24. Went to cook them on 7/24 and they were spoiled.

The week prior, I bought wild sockeye salmon from this location. My fiancé and I while eating found multiple parasites from two different packs of salmon which we believe to be Anisakis roundworms. We found out this is more common than you'd think in wild salmon, but I imagine the supplier should be looking a bit closer at the fish before packaging it. These do all die if the fish is frozen for 7 days or cooked to 145. I'm unsure if Aldi freezes their wild caught salmon for 7 days or not.

Happy to have another grocery option. Clean store with decent selection and good prices. Employees are friendly and efficient checking out. Missing a few staples that can be frustrating and necessitate trips to other stores. But more concerningly, their produce is always bad. In the last three visits I have consistently found moldy tomatoes, moldy berries, moldy zucchini, bad lettuce. It has been so consistent across multiple categories of produce that I worry about how they're transporting or storing it all.
