I'm a lil late to leaving a review but wanted to take some time to give the MU8 team that worked with me a huge shoutout. I got married in late September and coordinating with MU8 was seamless and wonderful. They are so organized, responded very promptly to all my emails, and the owner Patrice is such a kind gem and I had nothing but great interactions with her. MU8 keeps you on your timeline, are very transparent about everything, and just kind and professional overall.

Now for the team that worked with me the day. They were nothing short of amazing, Colleen, one of the hairstylists, had endless patience as my girls were trickling in. She had so much flexibility and sometimes there were long waiting periods for her, but she was so cheerful and so incredible upon arrival.

Also Sammi my hairstylist- amazing, amazing, amazing. The compliments for my hair were ENDLESS all throughout the night. She just nailed it and my hair looked as good as it did when I started the day and I was headbanging hard-core on the dance floor and our karaoke after party. It did not budge. I still am wowed by her skills.

And Madison, one of the makeup artists for my girls, is the queen of good vibes and a true sweetheart. She was also so supportive of my last minute decision to do my own makeup (I used to do makeup myself a looooong time ago and at the last second had a change of heart and actually wanted to try to do my own for my day), and was there to just give me a second opinion once I was done.

She and Sammi set up downstairs in the bi-level hotel where I was hanging out for most of the morning and we all had such fun conversations and the girls were vibing hard-core.

I can't recommend MU8 enough, my girls looked amazing, the talent from these hair and makeup gals is unmatched, and everyone looks so beautiful in their photos. I had whopping 8 girls in my entourage and they are more than equipped to handle a bigger bridal party. Most importantly, we all had a good time. Prides themselves in individualized approach but gave me a one size fits all one. Posted passive aggressive IG stories following trial. Posted a vid of me without letting me know. I know I signed up for that in signing the contract but heads up would’ve been nice. Took my suggestions in adjustments personally and overall did not deliver the look I asked for and worked so hard to communicate, respectfully, multiple times. Too expensive to be having that experience imo. Trial itself had me down $300. I booked for the good energy and emphasis on individualization in their videos. Wedding day, bad/awkward energy all around. Horrible start to my day. I felt like I was torturing her. She didn’t even prep me the way she said she would and then ran out the door when she was finished. I tried so hard to get on the right foot with her. Why would I want to beef with the person doing my face for my wedding? My experience makes me sad more than anything. I refuse to believe I was difficult. I did not pull inspo from their page bc there weren’t any East Asian women with the look I wanted. But I trusted bc she’s a pro and what I wanted is not as complex as what they have featured. Like, the Hollywood waves they do take a lot of experience and talent. What I wanted wasn’t nearly as complicated. And it was so hard to ask for a warm, monochromatic makeup look; color washed across eyelid. Kept giving me cool/dark brown outer corner trial day and wedding day. My eyes looked smaller. Not to mention issues with blending, symmetry, and setting I was too scared to bring up. I unfollowed and wrote this after seeing their story as to why they don’t offer trials before booking bc their process is “individualized”, “proven”, “successful” and they are too experienced to be “auditioning”. Well, I wish there was a trial.

When I tell you that choosing MU8 Beauty Studio for my wedding day was the reason why 90% of my stress was lifted off my shoulder, I truly mean it. My now husband and I planned our DIY wedding, for about 70 people, in only 3 months, but what I was really concerned about was my skin. I dealt with acne all my life, and I was really worried if someone was going to be able to have cover my blemishes in a way that it would still look pretty - a soft glam that wouldn’t look cakey. Not only Patrice delivered that, but I truly felt like a princess. I felt beautiful like I never felt before. My makeup and hair looked absolutely stunning!!! Both PERFECTION!!!! (I am very self critical, I really don’t remember ever talking about myself this away 😅). Also, the makeup and hair not only looked flawless, they looked flawless and lasted ALL day! - I may add: I was on the dance floor all night!. From the very beginning Patrice showed her confidence when I expressed all my concerns. She was communicative, enthusiastic snd so kind 🤍. During my preview she was, patient, sweet, open to feedback and her energy was amazing! For my wedding day, sitting on her chair was my therapy and from the moment I looked in the mirror, I knew everything else was going to be ok!
