AWAY Spa at W Philadelphia — Local services in Philadelphia

Such an amazing experience! My gfs and I booked a massage for the three of us and it was phenomenal! For the price, the massage, to be able to swim in the rooftop pool for an hour!!! The away spa is located inside of the W hotel and the decor is beautiful! Such a picture worthy bar/lobby. We checked in the W hotel lobby and they escorted us to the floor the spa was located on. When we entered we were offered complimentary ginger shots which was a nice touch to their customer service. They then gave us a little tour before our session started. We went into the locker rooms and were able to store our belongings/ clothes. We changed into the robes and slippers that were provided. We then entered the red room which was considered a quiet room and it was so relaxing. My gfs and I were able to order cocktails and make beverages such as tea & coffee. After waiting for a few minutes our masseuse called our names one by one (we were in separate rooms). It was a nice hour massage from head to toe, you can change the massage bed temperature which I thought was really cool, and they also play relaxing music. After our message we then headed to the rooftop pool. We went in December so it was super cold out but thank god THE POOL WAS HEATED. I’m surprised this place doesn’t have more reviews, so I’m here to do my part! The staff at this spa are super friendly and really know their stuff. As someone who’s plus-size, I really appreciated that they’re size-inclusive. If you’re worried about the robe fitting, don’t be—they have larger sizes available, and you can exchange it without any awkwardness. They all look the same too!

I treated myself to a manicure and a facial for my birthday, and it was such a special experience. Definitely go for the birthday boost if you can—they give you a generous pour of rosé! The facial was incredibly relaxing. I’m not usually comfortable with people touching me, so I was a bit nervous about the neck massage, but all my worries melted away instantly. I think I almost fell asleep in the chair—I swear I heard myself snore! I was so relaxed afterward that I could barely keep my eyes open for dinner.

Overall, it was one of the best experiences of my life, and I’ll definitely be signing up for another facial soon....

Although the spa and hotel itself are nice, I was wrongfully double charged for my service and it is nearly a month later and I am still waiting to be refunded.

I had an appointment for a massage on August 16th. When checking out for my service, I opted to use my debit card rather than the credit card on file used to book the appointment. 20 minutes after I leave the spa, I see my credit card is also charged for the full amount. I return to the spa the same day and they said to wait to for their manager to reach out.

It took about a week going back and forth with both the spa manager as well as the accounting manager for them to finally verify they wrongfully charged me and told me to wait for the refund.

It is now 2 weeks from when I was told I would be getting refunded and I still have yet to have any money returned to me, as well as even get a response from any of the W staff.
