The apartment-hotel concept is something I have always found to be a great business model and Roost is no exception. The apartment was VERY accommodating as the kitchen and living area is where I spent most of my time. The furniture was well thought out and it allows you to have a few friends over without feeling cramped. The included coffee appliances and coffee beans was stellar as well the presentation of it. The living room has big beautiful windows that let in plenty of the natural light as well as gives you a view of the city. Since location is in the middle of downtown, the street noise can be an issue, especially during the morning and afternoon rush hour however, if your familiar with any big city you should already know that the noise comes with the territory. Interior noise from adjacent rooms was minimal or non-existent and the building felt rather secure since keycard access is the only way to access other the levels. The building itself was built in 1924 and features art-deco styling, high ceilings and rooms with contemporary modern look. Do I recommend this property ? heck yea!!!!!....If you will be in town for a week or more, I would look no where else for safe and secure resting...
Read moreWow was I surprised and impressed! Very modern interior (the room) Very clean This is more of an apartment rental than a hotel. Not many amenities in lobby-but the apartment was packed full of amenities. Coffee beans, grinder, and pour over for your morning coffee (but no cream or milk or sugar) Complete kitchen and bathroom with laundry-comfortable bed-windows were tight and I couldn’t hear the street noise. Staff was friendly- Area is back to up and becoming again. Great location to walk places-a lot of construction and appears Philly is trying to revamp itself. I felt safe walking both day and nighttime. Love the park nearby and a few local coffee shops. Only BIG drawback-Parking-the parking is $47 per day-no in and out-but it isn’t the hotels parking-convenient across the street-but again-can’t go in and out-must park the car and leave it or pay each time you leave/enter. There isn’t any street parking so you are forced to use the...
Read moreI was disappointed. Good location if you’re not driving but if you are, you will need to park a ways from the hotel. I knew that before checking in and consciously made that choice so that’s more just an FYI for anyone who is driving. My issues were more with the room itself, the space has a modern/industrial vibe which is fine but some of the furniture was a bit worn for my liking. What I was most bothered by was the pillows on the bed didn’t look like they’ve been change for quite sometime, they were stained and yellow, not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Another issue was the water pressure from the bathroom sink was super low, I mentioned it and was told someone would take a look but that never happened. Overall the place was fine but again I would expect more for the cost and...
