I placed a mattress delivery order for a specified Saturday and listed my phone number as the primary number along with a family member's number as the secondary number. Guess who Furniture Mecca's delivery service decided to text 5 mins before arrival (although calling would be way more effective) - the secondary number. I had my phone (primary number) connected to my speaker all day to ensure that I don't miss the call. My phone never rang nor did I get a measly text message. Unfortunately, my family member (secondary number) did not see a text message until 2 hours later since she wasn't expecting any correspondence as the secondary contact. We contacted the driver who texted her and they promised first day Monday morning for delivery since they refused to circle back on their delivery route (slightly understandable). I called Furniture Mecca at least 10 times to follow up on the Saturday - no answer. First night in my apartment is spent sleeping on the floor.
Sunday afternoon I went to the store since nobody answered the phone on both days to discuss my mattress order. I was lucky enough to work with the same salesman I originally placed the order with. He was nice enough to contact the warehouse manager but returned with bad news. My mattress is now out of stock. How in the hell did that happen?! Fortunately, the salesman allowed me to choose any mattress in the store and honored the same price I previously paid. He also threw in a comforter set for my troubles. Guaranteed delivery for Monday and the receipt said in bold letters "Call 1 hour before arrival" along with the removal of the secondary number.
Monday came and I didn't hear anything regarding a window of time for delivery. I fortunately got through to someone on the phone to confirm my delivery time and phone number listed. The representative started to recite the previous secondary number. I had to cut her off midway through and let her know to remove and burn that number. Only contact the primary number. She removed the number and was able to confirm my delivery will arrive at about 6:30 pm. 6:30 pm rolled around and I received a call stating the delivery is 5 minutes away. -_- Whatever. I'm still grateful. I ended up having to convince the deliverymen to bring the mattress to my 4th floor apartment since they said, "we don't usually go to the 4th floor." Although, I was told 4th floor wouldn't be an issue at the time of order placement and carrying a mattress up 4 flights as a single woman is just ridiculous. The deliverymen also refused to set up the box spring and take off the plastic for me to thoroughly inspect the mattress prior to signing and stated, "We don't usually do this. I've been doing deliveries for many years mama." I do not appreciate being called "mama" in my household.
With all of that being said, the salesmen at Furniture Mecca's Lancaster Ave store are wonderful and accommodate you as best as possible. The third party delivery service that they work with can use some lessons in effective communication and...

FYI- If you ever get credit approved to purchase from any 90 day yada yada store....(cell phone, furniture, whatever) plan to pay it off before your 90 days is up and you'll only pay the original charge price plus taxes, their fees...yada yada...unless you don't mind paying double for your item, which is an ok option if that's what you choose or don't mind if it's the only way to get what you want.
After my 2nd experience, I will never give them another cent ever because they charged me double for something I priced just the day before, although I liked the furniture that I purchased. I was satisfied with what I selected because for the price it was gonna have to do. I was not even upset that they delivered my furniture on one day and it took forever for them to come back to put it together (almost 3 weeks, and they had to keep coming back because each time they did not have the proper tools). Still not my issue.... My issue was I was given a price for a QFX SPEAKER for $300. For over a year, everytime I was in that store I'd ask for the price. Everytime $300. I asked on a Thursday...same thing...$300. Come in the next day Friday with $2500 credit and now it's $600 plus tax yada yada yada. Questioning them was a waste of time. They could care less about you or whatever your issue is. The only reason I purchased it anyway is because I needed it for a block party on Saturday. So the block party was epic because that QFX SPEAKER was the bomb! Bluetooth, Mic ports, radio, USB ports, SD Card slots, light show and it records too!! So I was pleased with it's performance on that day. Low and behold months down the line I removed the logo sticker to find out it was just to cover a large dent. It is supposed to charge while plugged in, it never does. In addition, some of the source selection buttons stop functioning. So I was double charged for something that I'm sure they knew was defective! Now I have over $3000 credit that I refuse to use if I have to purchase only from that store. Also don't believe the "No Money Down" or the "$20 down!" It's all hype to get you into the store. One last thing. Take the time to look over your delivered items with a close pierced eye because all the dings, scratches, chips, and dents must be pointed out right then and there. 1-poor customer service in scheduling delivery date and time. They came on unscheduled day, and when I was not able to receive the product, we rescheduled. Later, they did not even show up on the scheduled appointment. 2-They did not show up for scheduled appointment for 3 times. 3-Their customer service skills in handling issues or complaints is extremely poor (the lady hangs the phone on me, saysā oh my godā when she hears my name calling again, and puts me on hold and never picks it againā. 4-when they finally showed up for delivery on a scheduled appointment, they forgot to bring my mattress: 5-After so many calls and attempts to get my mattress delivered, they delivery it 10 days after the initial agreed upon delivery date. 6- while I had issues with delivery, they did not want to handle my concerns but rather they gave me their warehouse number that I had difficulty to reach people there and their customer service was also extremely poor. Mainly because they promised and confirmed delivery few times and they did not show up. 7- I bought a protection plan for my purchases and they promised to send the paperwork for it in two weeks. Now, 5 weeks has gone and I followed up once and I have not received any thing I am still fighting them about it. I understand that these plans come from a third party that works with them not from them directly, but they promised it will come at certain time and it did not and I followed up about 2 weeks later to see how it is and they promised they will send an email to me and papers will arrive soon. Nothing happened from all that. 8- Beside the frustration that delivery people caused by missing my mattress on delivery day, they delivered my couches with loose legs, my bed with a wrong piece that did not allow them to complete the installation.
