DGX — Local services in Philadelphia

Ya know, I have sooo many mixed feelings on this Dollar General Store, ooh, pardon me: DGX. Never ever have I seen or patronized a Dollar General Store such as this one. Where do I begin. From the cleanliness of the store, availability of product, the willingness of the store employees helpfulness, and, last but not least, the opportunity to take a little wine and spirits home. Well .....I'll be slightly inebriated off just the thought to purchase this at a Dollar General.

Now I'm a successful product of West Philly with Dollar Stores within my reach. I've never seen a DGX in my surroundings neighborhoods. What's up with that! Are Urban communities and neighborhoods NOT worthy of a DGX!??! Yea, bias feelings here from every angle. Imma just stop my rant here and just leave on a positive note.

I frequent DGX as I live just a couple of blocks away. The store itself is great, it’s a very reasonably priced one stop shop. That being said, the reason I’m leaving this review today is because of the outstanding customer service. All of the employees are extremely friendly and very helpful. There’s on in particular that exudes what it means to be a customer service specialist. He’s a younger gentleman who wears glasses and has longer black curly hair. Every single time I see him at the checkout counter he goes out of his way to pay me at least one compliment. He has always been extremely friendly and ensures that I feel welcome while at DGX. This place is a joke. Went in for cigs, didnt have my id. I’m in my mid 30s and look well over 18. I was refused the sale because I didnt have my id. Like I said, I’m clearly over 18 which is the law in PA. Asked the cashier “if common sense applies here” and his response was no. I asked him “does your store policy hold more water than the law?”.
