I’m new to the area & first time at this restaurant. We split our check 3 ways for the amounts we owed & added tips separately (I did 20%). Two days later, got a notification from my credit card, asking if I meant to add a 40% tip! When I called the restaurant, the manager was very transactional in talking to me. She found their error, did not acknowledge the inconvenience & asked if it “works” for me to receive a refund (for the extra 20% portion that I had not agreed to). As frustrated as I got for why I was being treated so negatively, I kept my emotions out of it. I am a doctor with a focus on systems and quality improvement. So I see errors as an opportunity for improvement. And that is why I provided feedback that it would be appreciated if they looked into a protocol where 40% tips don’t accidentally happen in the future (Because without my credit card alert, I wouldn’t have even noticed & who knows how many other customers may or may not have this type of alert). She got offensive and started talking down at me. Telling me that I need to accept that it was just an error & quickly switched to ask for my info to sent me an updated copy of my receipt. I didn’t say anything to avoid escalation. After the call I noticed she sent me the receipt of another person at my table (now I could see their information! Very inappropriate). And I still didn’t have confirmation for my receipt. So I had to call back. This time she was IMMEDIATELY rude & scolding me that she knows she sent the correct receipt. Wouldn’t let me speak & went over the details of the receipt she was claiming she sent. Once she let me speak, I had to go over the details of the wrong copy I was looking at, basically to convince her that it was the wrong receipt. Once she sent me the correct receipt, she hung up on me though I was mid sentence!!! I still cannot believe the treatment I received simply for asking not to be charged more than I had signed for. I will not be going back...

YES YES YES! One of the only (and best) restaurants that have a Taco Tuesday in the city! I''l start off with talking about the nuances of Taco Tuesdays first:

FOOD/DRINKS/TACO TUESDAY: First off, their tacos were ALL so good! I was determined to try every single taco and I was successful (I ate a total of 9 with 8 different kinds; see below for my order some of my favorites). They are the traditional smaller-sized, 1 tortila tacos, (my favorite kind as compared to the large/double tortilla kind). It's a set price of $25 and you must buy 3 tacos from the start then sets of 2 so forth. You CAN mix and match so don't let some of the servers say you can't, They also extend their happy hour past 7. And guess what? They have margarita pitchers! Which btw, ours was made strong. This place can be dangerous for a turned up Tuesday if you are not careful. They also sell the margaritas by the glass, which is cheaper due to extended HH at $6.

Environment: I am honestly impressed with the vibe, pricing, and food that this place offers! Settled in the middle of NoLibs, so it is extremely easy to get to, though parking might be tough depending on when you try to get here. There could be a wait, but fortunately you can put your name down via OpenTable! The vibe was definitely trendy and with quite a lot of festive ambience. Despite this, the indoor area definitely puts forth a classy feel. They also have a super nice outdoor area that is partly covered.

Rating: 9.5/10 Pros: TACO TUESDAY! Great tacos and the perfect kind, can book via App, great vibe Cons: Can be busy, in NoLibs so parking might be tough Recommendation: In order of my favorite tacos: Carnitas, Short rib,...

My boyfriend and I went last night for dinner and loved it. We were seated outdoors under the little dining booths that had been constructed. The noise level was low enough (even for outdoors) that we were able to easily converse without having to yell across the table. The propane heater and cafe string lights were nice additional touches.

The drinks we ordered to start were excellent and the octopus tostada appetizer was delicious. The combination of the chipotle and picked onion was something I particularly enjoyed. My boyfriend loved his steak tacos and the Crispy fish ones that I ordered were also amazing. I thought that some of the best parts of the meal were the sides. The rice was fluffy and very flavorful and the black beans were perfectly cooked and not mushy and overdone. Everything was seasoned nicely.

The most outstanding thing about our visit was definitely the service. The restaurant was very busy and the ticket time for our tacos was much longer than normal. We were perfectly content sipping our drinks and in no rush at all but as soon as the food was run out, our server came over and told us she had our meals comped and even brought out the equites as an complimentary appetizer. We both loved it and it was an unexpected favorite of the night (although to be honest, there's not much to dislike about buttery sweet corn drizzled with chipotle mayo...)

Our server also made us aware of all of the extra garnishes and sauces on the dishes in case we wanted to remove anything for preferential or dietary reasons. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy our meal and Saturday evening out. We had a wonderful experience and will...

@anejophilly has Bottomless Brunch every Saturday and Sunday, and you absolutely need to go 🥂 For $49.99, you get 1.5 hours of unlimited brunch cocktails, which includes the Blanco Margarita, Bloody Maria, Red Sangria, and Mimosa 🍊 Also included in this deal is unlimited guacamole, salsa, coconut French Toast 🥥 And 1 brunch entree. We upgraded to the Carne Arrachera Con Huevas (steak and eggs) and the Chilaquiles (crispy tortilla, fried egg, cheese, and steak). Our sides were the Esquites 🌽 and Brussels Sprouts, which were not included but we did not regret ordering AT ALL 😋 Everything we had was top tier, and I loved the chandeliers ✨ Definitely a great spot for brunch in Northern Liberties! #brunch #phillybrunch #philadelphia #anejo #anejophilly #phillyeats #phillyfood #phillyfoodie #phillyfoodies #phillyrestaurants #philadelphiafood #mexicanfood #mexicanrestaurant #mexicanbrunch #pennsylvania #northernliberties

Añejo Philadelphia is a delightful culinary gem that truly captures the essence of modern Mexican cuisine. I started my meal with the Guacamole & Salsa Combo, which was a perfect introduction to the flavors to come. The guacamole was creamy and paired beautifully with the bright, zesty salsa—an ideal accompaniment to my refreshing mojito that added a nice herbal twist to the experience. For the main event, I indulged in the Shrimp Tacos, and they did not disappoint. The crispy gulf shrimp stole the show, delivering a satisfying crunch with each bite. The combination of guacamole, tomatillo, pico de gallo, chipotle crema, and cotija cheese created a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. Each element complemented the others perfectly, making for a truly memorable taco experience. To cap off the evening, I couldn't resist the Flavorful Margaritas Flight. It was the perfect finale, showcasing a range of unique flavors that left me wanting more. Each margarita was crafted with care, providing a delightful balance of sweetness and tartness. Overall, my visit to Añejo Philadelphia was a culinary journey that I thoroughly enjoyed. The vibrant flavors, thoughtful presentation, and warm atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in exceptional Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended! Side note: It’s Philly what do you expect? 🙂 you may get lucky with side street parking 🅿️ but if not, park in the lot up the street which is free it has a small plaza with stores which has two levels and yes, it’s free to park.
